Mat Kendrick has tweeted that Villa have clarified McLeish' comment about strengthening - "avfc tell me Eck's 'need to strengthen' comment referred to putting more senior players in with last night's line up, not new signings."

What that actually means is that he wants to strengthen but we're not going to so don't raise your hopes.
