What difference does it make if he's scottish??

Fergie to Liverpool?
Lennon to Rangers?

Some things in football wouldn't happen, this is one of those things!

Last time it did happen - Graham to spurs, lasted one season booed every home game. Was forced to resign. Even won the Yids a trophy!

See my point?
Peter Withe.

If AMcL had slagged us off at every opportunity while he was blues manager, then i'd probably be of the opinion that he couldn't be accepted as Villa manager, and if I'm being honest, I'd probably not give him as much of a chance as I am. But the fact is, he was very complimentary of us every time he spoke of us, so I don't really think it should be as much of an issue as it is.

Reading the threads recently on the forum has got me thinking.

For me it just shows what the appointment of Mcleish has done to the fans of this club.

Its causing arguments and a feeling of hatred which runs through the supporters (and thats just on this site) the season hasnt even started yet.

No.
It's causing a few people to lose their heads and all sense of perspective and it's causing the rest of us to laugh at you.

I think AM will turn out to be a dreadful appointment, but am going to give him a chance.

I also think you're living in a dream world if you think he's going to get booed every game. He's not. This is not one of those things you described. He was at Blues for 3 and a bit years. It's not like he's Trevor Francis.

I just don't understand the Lerner Out argument. What would be good? He gives away the club for free - to who? Unless Carlos Slim (or someone of his ilk) suddenly declares his love for the Villa and desire to buy the club, what are these guys trying to achieve?

I am not a Mcleish fan and i think his appointment was just an inept panick signing by lerner and the board which took no consideration for the fans into account.

I was told over the weekend by a club employee that far from being a 'panic' signing, Eck was first choice from the start and was actually discretely sounded out when MON spat his dummy out last year.

I already hated most of the people on this site well before Alex Mcleish was appointed.

Another one for you

I would'nt bother from now on. The less attention they get, the better.

But the Qatari Royal family?  surely?  They turn up every week.  Give them a chance, etc etc.

Villa on the phone again tonight about 6.30pm (2nd time i've spoken to them)

Asked me why i havent renewed after having a ST for the last 16 years and being an away ticket member etc

Had a really good chat with the guy in the ticket office and told him:

1. Increase in prices (again) across the league not just the Villa
2. Selling our best players (again)
3. Appointment of Alex Mcleish.
4. Overpaid players who couldnt give a toss

He said; for the benefit of feedback to the club then its because we've appointed Alex Mcleish! You're not the first person to say that!

Probably having to phone after 6pm to save on the telephone bill to the 10,000 fans who havent renewed yet.
