I got a call and told the nice lady in no uncertain terms that I was dissapointed at the current situation at Villa and with the economic climate being as it is I would not be renewing my 2 season tickets.

Went down the Villa a few days later and bought 3.

Am I mad or what?

They phoned me about 2 weeks ago. After 16 years home and away season tickets and european travel they asked why i hadnt renewed.

I said that i wouldnt this season due to:

1. Selling our best players season after season
2. Overpaid players
3. Increase in prices
4. Appointment of Mcleish!

These were the main reasons, i feel totally let down by Randy Lerner. For all the good he's done for the club and i extend my upmost respect and gratitude for the man and for what he has done. The appointment of Mcleish has confirmed that he and the board are so detached from the supporters its untrue.
I had a good chat with the guy and in all the years i've gone up the villa, i've never known them phone up and ask if i was renewing or not. Also, the renewel date has been extended. I know at least 5 people who have been going as long as me who arent renewing and a guy who had a box for the last 3 years has cancelled it aswell. I asked the guy how many renewels he has had and he said "many". I said not as many as previous seasons and he just laughed!! A laugh to say it all.

I think the older villa fans will not take to mcleish in a way that the "new breed" fans might, but that is because we remember the bad old days under Taylor, O'leary etc. We thought we had risen from that and now we are being pulled back down. I'll always support the club but not always the decision it makes!!

I would say 30+

20 years of the prem league.

My first game was 87' and i am 32.

A lot of fans came in on the Randy/Oneil era. These i would call new breeds.  :)

Only 2 calls so far.......Agree with GJH......bang on.

I can't bring myself to renew....it hurts after 25 years as an ST, 47 years as a fan....never felt so disconnected!

Goin fishin on saturday afternoons until I see the club run properly........

Similar from me too - VCTM jnr now playing on Saturdays and finishes too late for us to get to VP for 3pm kick offs (remember those ? !!)
So there are two more lost season tickets - I had considered buying anyhow and pass my tickets on when I can`t go but to be blunt I am utterly pissed off with modern day football: -  overpaid prima donnas (players getting paid as much in a day than I get in a year), SKY hype, The Premier League, rip off prices at most grounds, football clubs talked of as "brands", ridiculous transfer fees ..................... will look out for offers at VP in the future (cannot foresee any sell outs this coming season).

I guess it could be argued that we hadn't come down from such high expectations then.  In late 2006 a lot of people genuinely thought we'd be contesting the European Champions final by now.

You've seen us in the third division, you've seen us relegated and getting battered every other match and you think these are the worst days? This is the sort of mentality I just don't understand.

GJH says it all for me. Took me 50 odd years to decide i was not going to put villa before everything else in my life anymore. Halfway through the MON last season i found myself actually bored at a lot of the matches and the Moscow game was another thing that made me wonder why do i bother. Sky and this Champions league obsession have ruined the game for all bar the so called big 4, before they came along you always thought you had a chance, not any more. Villa will always be my team , i just wont be spending my hard earned cash on a club that seems happy just to stay in the Premier

Like a lot of the posters on here I'm disappointed with a lot of what's gone on over the last 12 months. But I hang on to the fact that Villa are still my team, I will always support them and they need my support right now, whether I like the manager, the owner or some of the players or not. In a few years most of them will be gone but my club will still be here. I've been down to Div 3 and Div 2 more than once, and by comparison these are not such bad times.
Call me an old romantic bugger, but I ALWAYS live in hope that we will return to the top, or thereabouts, where, in my opinion, we belong!
Received a few calls early on but already knew I was renewing and did the deed well before the original deadline day. Am I stupid? I dunno. But I definitely wanna be at VP for as long as I can be.

I have no idea if Aston Villa have tried to get in contact or not as I can't hear the phone and my folks didn't mention it.

I'm not going down there until Ellis is gone, Emeritus or not.

There, that oughta buy me a few more years of self-righteousness while I simply cannot be a*sed.
