Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton gives credit to Twitter followers for signing of Kieran Agard

In what's being labeled as the first ever 'Twansfer' with the free transfer signing, the Glovers boss believes this could be a new way of signing players for his club.

Yeovil Town manager Terry Skiverton went down a different route to sign Kieran Agard - asking his Twitter followers for transfer suggestions.

After Agard’s name was mentioned, the Glovers boss enquired about the player and eventually signed him on Wednesday from Everton on a free transfer.

Skiverton then paid tribute to the fans who suggested the striker.

"The help from the supporters has been magnificent," he told BBC Somerset.

"What I didn't realise was other supporters from other clubs had jumped on the bandwagon. I've had supporters from Liverpool, Man Utd, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Championship clubs like Cardiff, all telling me about their best youngsters and players are available on loan.

"The supporters sometimes feel left behind but in this case they've been asked for their opinion.

"I'm trying to do it a different way by giving them a bit of interest and it's been excellent.

"A few people are calling it the first 'twansfer'.

"I'll be retweeting the ones that came up with the name Kieran Agard. There's a couple of people who had mentioned him, so they'll be taking the credit."

Ugh...Twansfer...that is the Widow Twankiest word i've heard since some Yank was chatting away to me the other day, describing how she was eschewing a summer holiday away for a ''staycation''. Christ's chin...

As David Baddiel once said of the man that came up with the word 'Chunnel', "Save time, just call me a funt."
