I don't know anyone on here who wanted him, but now we've got him (unfortunately) we've got to be supportive and be positive.I don't see the logic behind giving him the job, quite frankly it's bewildering but I'll still try and get down to the games and support the team and manager.

I think most of us (oops - nearly said all) are aware of your views, but in your (and to be fair lots of others) eagerness to let us know, I think you may have missed the (admittedly very small) number of people on this board who have voiced their support for the appointment. I think they are entitled to their opinion.

I'm still going to support McLeish as manager.

But the decision has been made and I have been an Aston Villa supporter for close to 50 years and have cheered at our triumphs, Cried at our defeats and swore at the matches when we have been crap, But have stayed in love with the Villans. So what ever decision the board make I will still be a supporter untill I die. Lets hope and pray that this is the one and my head stays out of my hands for a good season to come. Come on the VILLA
At the risk of sounding naive, why is Alex Ferguson so enamoured with AMc??
I agree with a fair few on here that Mcleish has shown genuine courage and I am sure he will make all the right noises about now being at a big club though his record stands out as one of mediocrity at best. The problem i now have is with the board who have shown such disregard for all fans whether it be rational or irrational doesnt matter as football clubs live and die with their fans and some will never forgive.
