I've thought it through and the bad news for everyone is that I will be renewing my season ticket.

Sorry.

Yes, i'll be renewing and i'll do most of the away games again no doubt, but i'm not going to knock anyone who want's to vote with their feet, as much as a shame as it would be.

Renewed mine - no intention of claiming a refund.

We haven't got a crowd of top managers lined up at the gates of Villa Park. If Big Ek can convince Randy he can sort out our problems and he gets the job, we are not in the postion to complain.

He has got to be given a chance. If he keeps us safely in the top half of the league, gets us through a few rounds of the cups, makes a few of our "less enthusiastic" players to pull their fingers out, signs a few useful players etc. He will deserve to be respected.

The best way to piss off the great unwashed of Small Heath would be to prove AM is a good manager and they were at fault for not letting him manage them to a better position.

Mines free but I wont be in attendance.

Even though I didn't like Geddy (Come back! All is forgiven) I couldn't stand the amount of abuse he got.

That however will be nothing compared to if we go 1 nil down at home in our first game. I don't want to sit through it.

Yes, without hesitation.

I think anyone not doing so because of the choice of manager is a fool.

Well, I'll be a fool .. and please stop the holier than thou attitude.

I didn't have mine last year and have explained why in The Manager thread. I was going to buy 2 this for the coming season, but I'm now not going to bother. It's not a protest, but a "consumer" choice. I admire the ones that have renewed and up until now have been of the same vein, but there are lines that should not be crossed and the actions and indeed the attitude of this Board over the last few days means that in my opinion, they have shot well over it.

Not holier than thou but an opinion.

All the attention seekers planning to protest aren't pausing to worry about whether they represent me are they?

I don't think he's the correct choice but am prepared to give the man a chance and feel that the board have enough credit in the bank to be trusted over this one.

Did I say I was protesting. You've called everyone that doesn't renew a fool. I'm sure that there are a lot that aren't renewing and also not part of some Internet campaign either

As for the Board having enough credit, by and large I would agree with you, but not with this appointment, and for what it's worth, to a man, the Villa fans that I have spoken to ST Holders and fair weather have said the same.

I just think that the choice of manager is a foolish premise on which to decide. It's like there's a list with Manager A = renew, B= Not, C= Yes, D= Yes, E= No etc.

I've put up with Doug Ellis, Billy McNeil and Steve Hodge so I can cope with Alex McLeish as manager and hope that he proves me wrong.

I've put up with all 3 too, but I thought that I had seen the end of the day that we are looking at a Manager who has done nothing in the English game apart from relegate his club twice (don't mention their fluke in Feb) and who is known for playing negative defensive football to boot. The Noses I know are laughing their bollocks off and they are in the Shit for a number of reasons.

I always went in despite of Ellis, 'cos I loved my Club and if this had been 10 years ago, I would probably well would have renewed too. However, Lerner and the rest have promised us a "Bright Future". The underhand appointment of this Manager and their total disrespect of 95% of the Villa Supporting public  would to me,  show perhaps they are showing their real colours amongst all the "razzmatazz" of the last few years.

I don't expect Villa to be Man United, but I expect more than this. I'm at a stage in my life now where despite my heart saying one thing, I know my head is right. I'm not saying at at all that I won't go at any point, but they will be 2 tickets down from this household.

Renewed already - I fear the worst for the coming season but at least I will be able to witness the entire debacle unfold.

.. and this is another reason. Villa Park will not be a pleasant place to watch football in the coming season. Look at the furor of Houllier and that was only a minority. Fights caused by disenchantment that was misguided. In this case the disenchanted will be a majority.

Do people understand what the word 'renew' means?

If you don't currently have a season ticket then you can't renew it. So anyone voting 'no' when they don't have one anyway renders it meaningless.

Ok smart arse .. I won't be renewing my Season Ticket that I didn't have last year .. is that ok?

Sad to say that after 16 years i wont be if we appoint Mcleish.

This game is all about the fans and without us there is no club. With him and Roy Aitken (again) it will be like the O'dreary years all over again!

I cant believe that the board will go ahead with this after everything they have done for us over the last few years it just shows you that the fans dont count and its a business decision.

His record isnt the best either;

Relegation Battles with Motherwell, Poor results with Rangers with fans protesting to kick him out, 2 relegations with blues. For every one good thing there are 2 bad!! Win percentage of 36%!!!!!  Shocking!!

Sad sad day!!

He no longer has Aitken with him, as he followed Dolly to the Middle East. He has that odious prick that goes by the name of Peter Grant.

I've contemplated the last few close season on whether to get a season ticket or not, but have always shelved out.

After 18 consecutive seasons, enough will be enough if we bring in McLeish. Not for the fact he managed the Blose, but the fact he managed to get a club relegated TWICE. And also as someone whose football is played with the charisma of a wet flannel.

So the answer is a resounding NO. The same can be said of my old man. Which is a shame really, as this would be the first season he can enjoy a concessionary ticket.

Already renewed - dreading it already IF they give the job to McLeish.

What a dreadful day for the club.

My first thoughts were that I won't renew if McLeish comes. I'm still telling myself  that I won't as I type this...
