What about supporting through thick and thin ? Two wembley appearences and everyone was loving being a Villa fan. Just cos times are hard doesnt mean people can give up. (excluding people who havent renewed because financially it doesnt suit.) They'll all be swanning back when we're fighting for the top 6 again.

I would love to, and yes I would. I had one for many years, and through some dire times. It's my club, and they are in my blood. If I was there it would be automatic as soon as the season ended.

Next season isn't a problem, more bothered about the season after and which league
we will find ourselves in !!! Will be a very expensive regular journey to watch the likes of Barnsley et al.

Yes, without hesitation.

I think anyone not doing so because of the choice of manager is a fool.

Well, I'll be a fool .. and please stop the holier than thou attitude.

I didn't have mine last year and have explained why in The Manager thread. I was going to buy 2 this for the coming season, but I'm now not going to bother. It's not a protest, but a "consumer" choice. I admire the ones that have renewed and up until now have been of the same vein, but there are lines that should not be crossed and the actions and indeed the attitude of this Board over the last few days means that in my opinion, they have shot well over it.

Not holier than thou but an opinion.

All the attention seekers planning to protest aren't pausing to worry about whether they represent me are they?

I don't think he's the correct choice but am prepared to give the man a chance and feel that the board have enough credit in the bank to be trusted over this one.

Did I say I was protesting. You've called everyone that doesn't renew a fool. I'm sure that there are a lot that aren't renewing and also not part of some Internet campaign either

As for the Board having enough credit, by and large I would agree with you, but not with this appointment, and for what it's worth, to a man, the Villa fans that I have spoken to ST Holders and fair weather have said the same.

Believe me, I have been through some thick and a load of thin in the past. I don't need to prove anything to anyone.

It's my choice and I'm sure that I won't be alone.

Yeah I've already done it.  Losing my job or just collapsing under the weight of the voluntary sector holding everything else up (Laughs hysterically.........then nervously) would be the real resaons I'd stop.

I just think that the choice of manager is a foolish premise on which to decide. It's like there's a list with Manager A = renew, B= Not, C= Yes, D= Yes, E= No etc.

I've put up with Doug Ellis, Billy McNeil and Steve Hodge so I can cope with Alex McLeish as manager and hope that he proves me wrong.

No...
For a number of reasons. Mates have moved away + have kids now and cannot go, so no social aspect for me. I live over 100 miles away and missed 6 games last season due to travel etc... Plus the money aspect. The manager situation is the final nail. 18 years coming to an end.

Renewed last week. Over the last few years I've become increasingly disillusioned with top flight football and, added to this potentially ludicrous appointment and the prospect of sterile football, the temptation to stay away was even stronger. BUT I'm a Villa fan and not being at VP when Villa are playing just wouldn't feel right, plus there's the  social side/sitting with mates I've sat with for years. An added bonus this year may be the opportunity to boo loudly.  Haven't had a good boo for years.
