Odd example as Blackpool probably played some of the most expansive, attacking football seen in the league for years.

I guess you are right.  Look at Manchester United.  Those guys that boycotted games missed nothing as United have withered and died in the meantime, didnt have to support their team, and got rid of the Glazers too.

Putting aside the fact he's relegated the world's most inferior local 'rivals', twice, whilst playing the worst excuse for football seen since Plough Lane was still a league ground, I'd like to object to the appointment of Alex McLeish on the grounds that if you shaved his hair and painted him green, he'd look exactly like a tortoise.

If the answer to the question "Who should be Aston Villa Manager" is "Alex McLeish" then some clueless fuckwit is asking the wrong questions.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about the blues connection, I really couldn't.
From what I can gather, the board stated that the new man would be chosen to continue GH's transformation of the club (transfer policy and playing style I assume). Now where is the logic in appointing a man whose style makes MON look like Guardiola in comparison? It defies all logic, and IF it does come about (and I hope to fuck that the board reconsider), then I really will question their ability for the first time since Randy bought the club.

And also, how they would still consider him after the way he quit, when that was pretty much the reason they discounted Hughes. It makes no sense at all.

Blues want £5.5mill if we sign him

It's bad enough if we have him, but to pay £5.5mill for the privilege of this is beyond belief!

Do the board really know what they are doing regarding appointing a manager? I have my doubts

Well I'm trying to get my head around this situation and prepare for this unthinkable scenario and have read up on his managerial background. Take away all the relegation fights (a fair few) he has had and his record isn't bad at all ;)

While a player for Aberdeen he came with the squad that played Dawlish Town, Exeter City and Plymouth in a pre-season tour. My mom used to wash the kits for Dawlish and offered to wash Aberdeen's as they were staying just up the road. We got to know a fair few of the players, Eck, Willie Miller, Jim Bet and the keeper Jim Leighton. At one point we had McCleish and Jim Bett in our green Cortina Estate giving them a lift. During the Exeter game Jim Bett was shouting to my mom in the stands and waving at us. It was cool as a young lad having Their kit on our washing line too.

For a period of 8 or 9 years we used to get some big clubs playing Dawlish and these were one of the most friendly.
We had QPR (with Seaman in goal), Platt scoring a hatrick while at Crewe (Crewe came every year for about 6 years), Watford with Steve Harrison who was great  (I served him and some players 99's from a Ice cream Kiosk), Spurs (Mabbut, Waddle and Hoddle years), Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea. It was good times for Dawlish.
Out of them all QPR, Watford and especially Aberdeen were brilliant and they had lots of time for everyone.

Anyway, I thought I'd try and put a positive spin on this. I've done my best.

Proud history, financially ruinous future.  Only qualification for the Big Cup could replace the revenue likely to be lost should he get the job.

I'd love to give him the benefit of the doubt but leading Birmingham to relegation twice does little for my confidence.

i do live in Newport Pagnell, but i can always move,
you however will always remain a complete Wanker

Top comeback Mr e.

Churchill-esque, in fact.   Which as a complete yoghurt knitter must have really rubbed it in to Red Fletch.

Fletch ain't red, he's yella: or was until Clegg went blue.

But I digress. The important point here is that if you are going to be a wanker, and I for one have no intention of abstaining from this pleasant diversion, it is surely better to be a complete one than an incomplete one.

since august of last year this club has been an absolute joke

the joke was never funny in the first place but it is really annoying now

Randy Lerner hasnt got a clue about football, its been shown for nearly a year now

the main problem with this eck shite, is not where he is coming from or anything to do with birmingham

it is the fact that in 4 seasons he has been relegated from the premier league twice

jesus wept

I've not seen anything to suggest the McLeish story has any more legs than any other story doing the rounds. I have however seen the best english goalscorer currently playing, a pile of internationals and a group of the best young players I've ever seen pulling on the C&B every week.

Lets give the guy a break before we all look pretty daft, he's ploughed millions into keeping us happy.
