At the time of his appointment it was ,  some would say,  a brave and exciting step as he was a young manager making his start in the game and seemed destined for bigger things much like a Poyet or Di Matteo of today I guess.

After about 6 months it was apparent it was a bad move

you are probably right, I am clearly getting ahead of myself but I am really worried.  The reports are we have contacted Birmingham to see if we can talk to McLeish.  Why would we want to talk to him, it shouldn't ever have been a consideration?
