He would be far from my first choice but if he is appointed I hope supporters give him a chance. The one thing guaranteed to make him fail is protest banners and booing before and after each game.

Which is exactly why he shouldn't be appointed, assuming anybody bothered to turn up at Villa Park. He'd be lynched in the car park.

There is no way on Earth that we will appoint McLeish.  It's not uncommon for managers to leave there post at the end of the season (or 5 days before), it happens all the time.  Particularly when they've been relegated.
