Perhaps no one wants to work with a CEO who is younger than their own children.  Also, are we running out of targets?  Is that why we seem to desperate to interview McLeish.  I presume that we'll also wait for Hughes to become available on July 1st if we want to do it all properly, as Dave Whelan suggests?

In short, does no one really decent want this job?

It will be interesting to see what he does here.

One thing it won't be is interesting, more like dire.

The Villa job and the Blues job are completely different..... Blues don't belong in the premiership, they are small time. It is the same as Blackpool being relegated, in all honesty he worked miracles finishing 9th and winning something

He is not my first choice, by any means but he got no backing from Chairman Mao and the Triads over the road and he walked out on them just to get the possible chance of talking to Villa, that in itself earns him a chance

Its going to happen like it or not, lets just get behind him....the whole club needs to pull together...fans, board and manager...

We know from Wigan that we contacted prospective managers a few weeks ago. We can't be sure how many, but it seems reasonable to assume we cast our net fairly wide initially - 6, 10? We also know AM was not then approached, despite his being very "gettable". So if we appoint AM, are we to assume that none of the other candidates were prepared to join us (or we don't want them)? If he's suddenly become more attractive because he is now "cheap", that's also a worrying sign for our finances.

I'd be disappointed if it's McLeish too (and hugely surprised at the Board) but there's a few on here who really do need to grow up a bit.

As the inevitable is about to happen, it's time to tell myself that McLeish won as much as O'Neill did in Scotland, took Small Heath to one of their best ever positions in the top division as well as doubling their trophy tally, doing the latter with not much money, a bunch of Villa rejects and eventually being relegated due to a lot of injuries. He was also, apparently, "given" Zigic as a gift by the Blues chairman and did not sign him himself.

The question should now read:

How will you feel WHEN we appoint Fucking Eck?

The anwser is still the same- inconsolable.

Why would they? What Villa manager has ever gone on to great things over the last however many years?

If you manage us, you more than likely won't meet the fans expectations, so why set yourself up for a fall?

The nightmare continues.

I really am not bothered about the Blues connection - I am bothered about his football, and what his appointment says to the footballing world about Aston Villa.

FrommAncellotti and Benitez to............................................................................McLeish. :-[
