How do you feel about Alex McLeish being the next manager?

I used to think that too but by appointing somebody who relegated them the board are showing that we are in a closer league to Blues than most of us would ever have thought. Can you not see that?

Its not so much the fact that he has managed the sty, it is the fact he has relegated them twice, not exactly the ideal credentials. Really dont know what the board are thinking and am fuming at the thought of him in charge

Its nothing to do with being the manager of the blues, its to do with his total lack of ability! his team played terrible football that even the noses thought was poor, got them relegated twice in four seasons!

And we now consider that he may be "...the best candidate"

No problem then.  Since McLeish's  "proven premier league experience"  amounts to one 9th place and 2 relegations, he surely can't, by definition, be the best candidate available.  Because Hughes and Benitez, to name two,  have never been relegated.  Which raises the question of why the fuck are they intervieiwing him, or even considering him. 

Those criteria worry me too - where is the criteria for proven tactical ability,  progressive attitude,  record of attractive winning football, the continental approach that will enable to build on the moves GH made in that direction?  etc. etc.  Fuck me I could go down there and work hard, wouldn't make us a better team.  I've supported Randy and co to the hilt but I'm beginning to despair of their clueless fucking floundering when it comes to recruiting managers.

Yes I know that - nut we were all happy to have him as manager. We cant compare US to the Small Heath brigade. Infrastructure, finance tradition, player quality are a million miles away. Sometimes you are only good as the tools you have to work with.

With that shady bunch he had to work with in the Boardroom, think he was on a loser from the start.

Give him time to prove himself or otherwise. We are sounding like a baying mob, just need the flaming torches. We are better than that. We are becoming a laughing stock, thats what we should be concerned about

It's the last bit of the statement which is worrying . If they really think that his record, two relegations in 4 years, makes him the best candidate then it just proves the lack of ambition. We'll be having another season just like the last. God it' s hard being a Villa fan.
Usually at this time of year we all seem to be full of optimism but it doesn't seem that way this year!

I'll be there again next year although I'm not sure it will be very comfortable

Thanks for the memories Villa, it's been an enjoyable 30 year rollercoaster, i've followed you home and away through thick and thin. I've supported you and continually paid my money to see you play and buy your merchandise. I took my 3 year old to his first game last season and was planning many more this season.

I think I'm off now, i find the shocking lack of respect and disregard you have shown to your fan base too much to bear.
