Agree about Benitez but what have you got against Martinez?  Of all the names mentioned he is the one I would like at VP.
He's on the up, not been around the block 100 times, shown a knowledge of good cheaper foreign players.

He's a risk I agree and us as Villa fans need to accept a season of transition (I know we've just had one but thats not his fault) where we might only finish 8-12.  MON only got 11th in his first season remember.  But with the risk comes the potential that he could transform the club (look at Swansea now - he is a big part of their success).  We know what we'll get with Benitez, Hughes etc. and frankly it don't seem that exciting.  Martinez is a bit of a punt but might just come off in a Brian Little/John Gregory kind of way (hopefully not a Jozef Venglos way).

If for one would rather the risk than the same old names.
