No. Over from Birmingham. He would have been season ticket holder for the last number of years. He did not expect the players to do a tour of HK harbour with him but a bit of common decency would not have gone amiss. I told him not to get upset by the behaviour of pampered, self opinionated millionaires who are better at kicking a bag of wind around the place than the rest of us

I don't know about the rest of the players but DB is an absolute gent.

My lad and I were at a kids football tournament a couple of months ago and (after we'd been knocked out) saw that Darren was on one of the training pitches trying out some new boots. We waited an hour or so for him to finish but got bored (and cold) so begged our way past the club official who was keeping people away from him. Pleading that you're Villa works round here.

I thanked Darren for keeping us up and asked for a photo with him and my lad. Darren said "no problem". They stood together, I pressed the button ... nothing happened ... f**k ... wrong button. I'd only turned the b*****d phone off.

I told Darren that I'd turned me phone off and he said "no problem". He took a few more shots on goal whilst I restarted my phone. Then got a cracking pic of Darren grinning with my lad beaming like he was stood next to a legend.

The day I see thousands of twats supporting the Villa like there were in the stadium today bedecked in their 'team colours', taking photos of anything that moves and having absolutely no link at all to the team they support other than they see them on TV every week and they win things will probably be the day I give up on my beloved team. Actually, come to think of it, I've just described most Chelsea fans I know over here too. At least that lot today created more atmosphere than you will ever see at Stamford Bridge...

At least Chelsea made the most of the opportunity to market the event to maximum potential.

My brother and his family amongst others were invited to BarBQ at Kowloon cricket club where they were told they would have a chance to meet the players. Initially just for him and his lad. He met two ex players onTuesday who are very highly thought of on this site. They extended the invite to his wife and two daughters.

A mate of ours won two 'tickets' to this event at a quiz on Tuesday night. He declined to go in the end fo some reason, which we will find out about on Saturday. How many were actually at the event as guests?  It was advertised as 'top secret' on the HK Lions website.

Had a great night after the game on the Wednesday. Quite a large number of Villa fans went to the Blue Goose, home venue of HK Lions. I was told by the gaffer of the pub that Dave (otherwise known as Happy Days) had bought the round. It then turned out that he bought all drinks, and some food, for everyone all night At a fiver a pint, with 30 present, his bill would have been well over a grand (no pound signs on this wretched keyboard). He also purchased ten litres of beer in the ground at about a tenner each.

Tell your brother not to let this bad experience stop him going to games.

Once he's in the Hong Kong Stadium celebrating us winning our first trophy of the season tomorrow,  all will be well with the Villa.

Our motto has always been not to get involved with 'players events'.  They can lead to tears.  Stick with mixing with the fans, much better fun.

Let us know how your brother gets on at tonights event.  We can't be bothered to go.

My brother mentioned that when he was ithe satdium on Tuesday somebody bought a drink for the whole section of the stand which must have cost 100s if not more

The invite to Kowloon cricket club came through the club. He had renewed his sea on ticket and told the club he was on his way to HK and could they tell him what was going on. They said they would see what they could do and a day later someone from HK villains contacted him and invited him along.

Has anyone got any idea about any pubs showing the game in town tomorrow?

They didn't. Not only that, but they leave to Braga on the night of my Birthday.

I hope there's some kind of house to self = lager / takeaway / slobbishness consolation prize.

Maybe we got lucky, but during the Columbus trip we mingled with the players/MON etc and they were brilliant. It's not much to ask of the club in the grand scheme of things especially when fans are watching their team in a foreign land at a friendly tournament. And even more so if some of those fans have possibly flown half way across the world to do it. I do have a little bit of sympathy for the players/staff as they do need some time to get away from the game itself/fans etc, but it wouldn't have killed the club to have said yes to a few people looking for a picture or signature.

Well done to all those who have gone out there. You're doing us all proud!!
