Just read this: "Alex McLeish has won just 26% of his games as a Premier League manager, so far no Aston Villa manager with more than five games in charge has posted such a low percentage. Of the seven permanent managers to have held the post since the introduction of the Premier League, John Gregory boasts the best win percentage (41.22%) while Graham Taylor endured the worst spell of the seven – the former England manager won just 29.41% of his PL games at Villa."
What was Gregory's win percentage at Wycombe before he left to manage us?

Will their be a press conference with Randy telling us what he sees in McLeish?

Randy doesnt do press conferences with the TV, Radio (and he is probably in America) it will be Mr Faulkner

Not great was it? Higher than 26% though.

Waiting and letting it fester would be stupid. They should have the conference tonight really, and get him saying the right things and that he has money etc.

Faulkners getting married on sat so if he has a honeymoon planned it could be that mcleish just gets announced as manager having signed the deal but they might put off any press conference till Faulkner returns and we sign a couple of players which will deflect a bit of attention maybe?

Honestly don't know but pretty sure it is not great.

The point I am making is that some managers are just a good fit with clubs.

No one will know whether McLeish is until he has done the job for a few months.

They just said on Midlands Today that it may be weeks before they unveil him, to let the animosity die down!

Well, good luck with that.

So if thats true , why the hell are we even appointing him.

Rubbish, I can't believe that. I never wanted him but now I just want us to get on with it.
Get him in and it will all settle down and they can prepare for the season ahead.
The only thing that will let the animosity die down is good results.

Isn't PF instrumental in player/wage negotiations? If he's away we're not likely to sign anyone. Or are we?

I can't see the animosity ever dying down. It might lift a little from time to time, only to come flooding back every time we get beat, play shit or buy another defensive midfielder. Come on folks, we're gonna be telling our grandkids about this!

As much as I cannot believe we are appointing him, he was a massive success up here with a similar sized club , you never know it could be a genius move. Either Randy is very very smart or very very naive

Is it still safe to say we still have only rumour, speculation and the media to go on?
