What I find really surprising is that, having spent five years cultivating such excellent relations with the supporters, they've gone and do the one thing they could realistically do which would do more damage to those relations than anything else.

Looked at purely on the "what would it do to the relationship between club and fans" level, and ignoring the footballing rights or wrongs of it, a couple of weeks ago I would have banked my house on the club never thinking about making an appointment like this, so acutely aware have they been of the value of PR.

Could be the first step towards selling the club.
It feels like a real self inflicted sabotage.

We always say that the Scottish League is a 2 horse race between Rangers and Celtic.
He actually managed to come third when he was up there one season.

I don't buy that, really.

Why on earth would he do something which runs the very real risk of affecting the value of his asset, even if he did want to sell?

I think the problem is he's as committed as ever, he's just surrounded himself with some people who are clearly not up to it.

What on earth convinced our press officer it was a good idea to issue those two statements this week (especially the one yesterday), for example, is beyond me.

And at the risk of starting to sound like I agree with Villadawg, you've got to wonder what sort of guidance Paul Faulkner has been giving to find ourselves having painted ourselves into a corner where there's no choice but to appoint Alec McLeish.

I don't think it is any malign, "this'll get em!" style thing, that makes no sense at all, I just think it is good old fashioned incompetence.

That Guardian article today about it just hit it square on the head, really. It just makes no sense on so many different levels.

This will all end up with us getting relegated, I am certain it will.

The sad thing is I am past caring!

Hopes and dreams just washed away without an ounce of thought for the fans!

How the fuck do Sky know whether or not we've had 'productive' talks with McLeish?

Because McLeish is going to be be our new manager
Eh?

I asked how do Sky know if the talks were productive or not, did they wire up McLeish with a microphone so they could hear what was said?

They probably didn't even have any talks, its all signed and sealed and they're probably both in some fancy restaurant drinking £200 bottles of wine and laughing there heads off.

'Gates are breached'

Bit dramatic.

It's like the storming of the Bastille, up the wheelchair ramp by the old ticket office.
