I've missed a lot of the last day or so.  Could someone enlighten me whether the protest and general unhappiness is motivated by:

a) AM previous role as SHA manager; or
b) Nobody thinks he is a good choice based on ability

If its b) I have more sympathy, I certainly hoped for a more attractive candidate to lift the profile of the club.  If it's a) though, I don't really get it.  He's left them now, and of all the recent SHA managers, I can't remember any being less offensive.  He always seemed to conduct himself very well and avoided aiming insults at Villa unlike Bruce.  Unless I have missed something?  If it is just because of his previous Blues connection then I just don't get it!
It's definitely B with regards the fans but the club think its A.

I would say that that seems a reasonable assessment

There must be so many things we don't know. It now seems logical that the board have shown an interest in, let's say, Gareth Southgate. And it feels like shopping next to the lobby on holiday.

Maybe McLeish is the only 'candidate' that will come in that can fit in with the way Randy now wants to run the club.

Is it simply worth it for the board to get McLeish as our new manager despite all the backlash and shitstorm that will commence?

Managing Bham to relegation second time around was unforgiveable. He wouldnt be in the frame for any job in the EPL as a result. Not to mention AVFC.

His record makes Steve Bruce look like Mourinho.

The amount of money they could lose, i now question Randy's desire for it, think he wants out to be honest.

Randy is playing with fire here, and must have bollocks of steel to have even let this get as far as it has. Part of me admires his perceived stance on wanting to appoint the man he believes in, but surely if that was the case, he'd have carried out his interview of McClaren. Which, is something I don't understand. How can you cancel an interview with one candidate because of a fans backlash? then release a statement saying we are going to interview imminently a candidate who has already, caused a much bigger backlash?

I'm so confused by all of this, as my post will probably suggest, as I'm just waffling total rubbish. My heart and head has been battered and bruised with all of this lately. I'm feeling a pain that no woman could ever cause me. I'm hurt, it might sound a bit OTT, but that's an honest assesment of how I feel.

I honestly thoguht Randy had us (the fans) in his heart, I'm not saying he doesn't, but these actions have started the snowball of doubt in my mind. He's not a stupid man, he's got millions of pounds, a billion in fact, so he can't be stupid. How it has got to this is beyond me.

apologies for the randomness of this post and how I've waffled. It's just so hard to be rational with how I'm feeling regarding all of this. I just hope it works out.

Interesting question. On the one side, you could say it is pandering to fans.

However, they are currently trying to get people to renew season tickets, so they'd be alienating the support at a time when they can least afford to.

I've renewed so am stuck, but thinking of the blokes who sit around us, I honestly can't see many of them being there next season.

Sky is reporting from outside Bodymore, some idiots have graffitied on the wall outside.  We really need to get a grip, voicing our opposition is one thing but when people start damaging our own training ground things are going too far.  That’s something I’d expect from the noses not us.  We need to show some class.

He had 6 months with them before they got relegated for the first time under him.

More than enough time to save those bastards.

I slept like a baby last night too.
I woke up at three o clock in the morning screaming because I'd shit myself.
