I'm not interested in what bloody focus groups they've gone to and what managers they've spoken to, the decision would go against every single piece of common sense and would alienate a large section of Villa fans. I love this club but I would seriously have great reservations about attending Villa Park next season if this were true; not because I don't support the team (I have done through thick and thin for all my life) but because I confidently predict a poisonous and vindictive atmosphere that will make last season look like a Disney film. And if the board think that this is just another doom merchant fan not prepared to back the choice they make, then they have utterly lost touch with the fans.

That is about the only positive I am trying to cling onto. That and the fact that Randy might just give him a big wadge to spend to placate the fans' hostility. McLeish will, indeed, be super motivated for all sorts of reasons not least of which will be trying to show us we are all wrong and at the same time proving a point to Birmingham...
