I would imagine talks are as good as handing him the job. Press conference on Thursday I guess.

So be it, if it is confirmed I will back him as he is managing my team. He is a very brave man to take the job on and so motivation will not be an issue. He has a major point to prove.

This cannot happen, surely this cannot happen? I'm not interested in what bloody focus groups they've gone to and what managers they've spoken to, the decision would go against every single piece of common sense and would alienate a large section of Villa fans. I love this club but I would seriously have great reservations about attending Villa Park next season if this were true; not because I don't support the team (I have done through thick and thin for all my life) but because I confidently predict a poisonous and vindictive atmosphere that will make last season look like a Disney film. And if the board think that this is just another doom merchant fan not prepared to back the choice they make, then they have utterly lost touch with the fans.

Randy has rightly gained a huge amount of credit with the fans over the last 4 years or so, but he will instantly pi** it all away if this were to come to fruition.

Still still hoping that its all a smokescreen for Hughes.

We're talking to him. He could still say no. Think positive.

Whats Carlos the Jackel doing these days?

Can't understand why we want to speak to him now? Presumably we didn't write to Blues back when we contacted Wigan? So how bloody low down on our list is he? This is the most depressing fact for me. He's just not that good.

What would be worse, actually appointing him or being turned down by him?

Appointing him. Without any shadow of an iota of a doubt.

Match day sales of H & V will be well down this season I'd say Dave.

Can't accept it though Ger!
It simply cannot be true!
I'm just hoping and praying it's a smokescreen thing!

That is about the only positive I am trying to cling onto. That and the fact that Randy might just give him a big wadge to spend to placate the fans' hostility. McLeish will, indeed, be super motivated for all sorts of reasons not least of which will be trying to show us we are all wrong and at the same time proving a point to Birmingham...

I think they have hit a brick wall and he is the only option left. A no from Moyes, Coyle, Benitez, Martinez and Hughes pissed them off. He is the last resort......

McLeish - I can forgive him for being Scottish and an ex-Bloser.

But not for being GINGER
