People have to start thinking that if McLeish will be eventually appointed, then all this noise will just make his job more difficult. Stop moaning about the manager, stop creating fb pages and get behind the team and the players. You are just hurting the team. People should say something about letting Barry, Milner and Young away in consecutive year, that's a big issue. McLeish is a proven manager, imagine how many likes would a fb page had "we dont want Grayson/Poyet/Coyle" McLeish is a much more proven manager than all these.

I can remember a couple of seasons ago Mcleish was in the sky studio just to the right of the holte end
he had abuse from the holte end for 90 mins there is no way he could come to villa park and looking at polls
and other forums he's not wanted, if he does come my season ticket is going back.
frank rikard would be a good option and he's interested

If its him... its ok saying mcleish hasn't been backed but the board didn't make him play football that way.

It's not completely true either, he's made a few shit signings. Zigic and Michel spring to mind. Bentley hardly set the place alight.

In fairness, Zigiz was not his, and his cheif scout who their board fired after the final game said as much on talk sport this am. Really interesting interview in fairness.

Just interested as to where the second part of that came from.

Fair enough. His record with keepers and centre halves certainly stands up to scrutiny.

Frank Rijkaard was o good player. And he can only coach a ready team like Barcelona, where they play attractive football and just need an iconic figure to lead them. He doesn't have a clue of what a manager is. He failed in Turkey and he had a huge transfer budget, why should he do better in England.

Proven in what way?

We have the most expensively assembled side in memory and we are going to hand over its running to a fella who has been relegated two seasons out of the last three?

No way this is happening.

Has no one seen the shit GK has posted on Facebook?

"Richard, you know I am not going to tell you anything. I will say that the uproar over McLeish is absolutely uncalled for....he certainly has proved he can manage in the big leagues...just imagine what he could do if he was with an owner who supported him."

"First off, NO ONE is confirming a rumor...I am just stating a belief. You all cling to the fact that he has seen his lads relegated twice...well, the first time he was not with the Club long enough to make much of a difference. Secondly, ...look at the owners he has worked for and their support of him monetarily. Then look at Randy and what he provides to his Managers. Third, look at his record with other Clubs...as a Manager and player. Check with Sir Alex and ask him about the man...you will get an entirely different sense. All I am saying is that the fact that he managed BCFC should not be the driving factor. Those fans who X the man out because he managed our biggest rival just seem to miss the point. YES, Randy and the Board understand the feeliings of the Fans...we are neither deaf nor blind. At the same time, whether it would be this man or any other, we need to do what we think is right for the Club. NO action is taken without HUGE input from many knowledgeable people. Honest to goodness, if a single man can cause all the fans to abandon ship, that is a sad state of affairs. What you are basically saying is, "Randy, let us pick the Manager...we know more than you, those who are advising you, those who are in the game and know the individuals, those who make a living recommending managers and players, etc. etc" Sorry, that just doesn't seem right to me. Again, I am not confirming the rumor...just simply stating my feelings...as a FAN!!!!!!!!"

General Krulak on Facebook.

If that is Krulak, then it is as close to confirming it as you will get.

a couple of things cause me to question this:

1) He starts of by saying he has proved he can manage in the big leagues - if this was court he'd get crushed on the evidence.
2) He has stated very strongly that the club will not conduct its business through the media.
3) He has never mentioned any potential candidate by name. There was an uproar over McClaren and he didn't mention him by name. He mentions McLeish in this.
4) He is critical of the Birmingham owners - I don't think he'd ever do that in public. Remember the pigs fiasco.
5) "Check with Sir Alex" - I don't think he'd ever out one of the clubs sources.

Like others have said, if it's not him, it's a good impression. If it is him, then I'm really surprised about his choice of media to make this statement. I don't recall him ever using Facebook. It's always been on here or VT. I have my doubts.

This is the wierd thing about his comments on twitter where he rubukes fans on AM record saying the man has had great success in the game, he has in Scotland, in a league of 2, if you want to be relagated in the Premiership he has to be up there as one of the most qualified to get the job done.

On point 5, if it is him, it would explain why McClaren was considered.
