Been away from the computer since Friday. Heard the announcement re Big Eck resigning as it broke and thought there is no way Randy would entertain the idea of the unthinkable. Talkshite immediately mentioned a possible move across the city and the fun began. I laughed as I heard the reaction as I drove from Brum to Cornwall and guessed H&V would become Hysteria & Vitriol. 50 pages of it for christ sake and I can't be arsed to read it all.
Randy knows what he is doing and is getting on with it, I have faith that things are happening without being played out in the media. The press are speculating/clutching at straws because they don't know shit and some folk are lapping it up.
My feelings are that I will wait and see who is announced as manager before battering the keyboard.
Hang in there folks.

This thread is ruining my life.
I have the same feeling

steve mclaren will be the  new forest boss according to talksport- an interesting choice , i was against him when i hoped tge likes of hughes and benitez might come but i think maybe i judged him a bit harshly- anyone else thinking we were maybe too vocal in our rejection of him?
I would gladly take McClaren tomorrow

If you see everything logically. Moyes has no reason to leave Everton. Lerner will not upset Villa fans by appointing McClesh or McClare. McClaren or MON signs for Forest. Coyle and Pullis also are not leaving.

Now, we are probably waiting for Hughes. But Hughes is also waiting for the Chelsea job he is hoping. If he doesn't get it, he signs for Villa. If he does get it we need a back up option, so we interview Martinez, but he is not interested. Rijkaard, Ranieri are other back up options, and Poyet is one too.

i remember similar outcries when newcastle replaced keegan with kinnear and hughton with pardew but the fans although saying theyd stay away were soon back - the same will happen here , whoever is boss we will turn up and support our team on the opening day.

im praying moyes does resign but its all pointing to mcleish and if so i hope we give him a chance before people start getting on his back.

Whoever it is the media will sensationalize all and any of the fans' reaction to him.   Regrettably football reporting has become one long scream for attention with the first casualties being truth and objectivity.

A classic example is the bed sheet banner hung from the Holte Upper demanding that Houllier should go and just in case the motivation was missed the website of the banner hangers.   It was one banner displayed once only I believe yet the tabloids used pictures of it endlessly to fuel their Houllier's Villa Nightmare story.

Expect more of the same whoever gets the job.

It's monday morning, it's raining, I've got a long day at work ahead.

Then Woodhall pops up on the radio.

Great.

Yes there was a fan outcry when Keegan was replaced  and the Board did not listen and they were relegated  next season...

The board aren't stupid. Leaving aside the Blues connection, they would not appoint a manager who created such a poor side. Relegated twice, lowest scorers in the league, awful football side.

They wouldn't do that, would they ?

About as logical as I can see too that, but it won't stop me worrying irrationally about the Eck to Villa rumours.

5Live. As if that wasn't bad enough I got into the car, where the radio was tuned to WM and blow me if he didn't turn up on there as well.

I haven't been this outraged with broadcasting since the Brand/Ross/Manuel incident. In fact my rage was such that I drove the car straight into a wall and will send Ed Doolan the bill!
