Mind you, wouldn't be surprised if McLeish ends up at Everton....

Why would Everton want him???

Because they have a vacancy to fill???

A) They haven't got a vacancy
B) They wouldn't want him any more than we do

A) Not yet they haven't.
B) Why not?  He'd make a very good ball boy.

according to mysteryman hughes was never in the picture , something in his cv from the past that ruled him out apparently?

McLeish has something on his CV which rules him out as well.  The words BIRMINGHAM and CITY.

I'm glad we didn't sign that useless bastard Peter Withe then.

And when did Peter Withe manage us?  Or Blues for that matter?

I can see the point your trying to make but taking their players is one thing (albeit very rare as well) but getting their managers is another.  Even if it is their most sucessful manager in years, if not ever.

With all this bad publicity, how many season tickets do you reckon they're shifting at the moment?

How many do you think will keep their season tickets if we start talking in the media about who we want, and then it turns out we can't get them for one reason or another, not to mention the effect it'd have on the manager who does join us. There's no sense talking when there's nothing to say.

i really hope a decision is made very soon, the longer it goes on the more ridiculed we will be - surely the process must be nearing its conclusion?
The most important aspect is not to panic, even if the media is putting pressure on the club to response. What have Aston Villa said or done today? Nothing. It is pure speculation Babygirl.

I really do not care if the Media want to continue their spouting of rubbish, it will make no difference to who we appoint in the end.

Onwards and upwards peeps.

The trouble with trying to keep your potential manager a secret is it only works if the other club agrees with it. Whelan blabbed as soon as he could, as anyone with any football knowledge could have anticipated. Either they've changed their methods and talked to Mcliesh first, or its all a a very unpleasant coincidence

What a shambles at Villa. A total and utter disgrace. Lerner and Faulkner should hang their heads in shame.

Hard to disagree. They're way out of their depth.

I couldn't categorically agree with that yet.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

Been asleep for the last few hours and now I hear McLeish has resigned?!

They can't fucking appoint that man. They just can't. Surely the board can't be that stupid? Relegated his team twice yet we want him?

Nobody moaned when we got Ron Atkinson and he used to manage our local rivals.

I see many arguments for not appointing McLeish but if the main reason is because he used to be involved with Blues, that makes us as small-time as them, in my opinion.

Then why do I get this horrible gut feeling he'll be our next manager? :(

Surely the board won't go for him... put us out of our misery Mystery Man.

The haven't waited until he resigned I hope.

2 relegations and turgid football may also have a bit to do with it.
