You have to remember Aston Villa are club who do things the right way or not at all

I have it on good account that Mr. Lerner does indeed desire an introduction with Mr. Moyes. However with him being 'new' money as it where, and lacking the contacts to engineer such a formal introduction, he is rather in a quandry how to proceed.  The other problem is Mr. Moyers friendship with the ghastly Mr. Kenwright, who as you well know is in the theatre business, an occupation that a gentleman with Mr Lerner's social status cannot afford to be seen to be in association with. There has been suggestions that Mr. Lerner can ask his acquaintance, General Krulak to arrange a ball at which an introduction could be made on neutral ground as it were, but whether Mr Moyles would accept said invitation is a matter for debate as i hear he rarely leaves his home for social frivolities and lives a pious existance for the most part.

god i'm bored....

I was gonna say you're starting to sound like Jane Austen.

I can't imagine we'll be looking abroad now. What with the recent Royal mail price increase its going to be financially unrealistic to send letters out abroad. You're talking a tenner for signed for air mail and thats only tracked in this country. As soon as its out the uk it can end up anywhere.

In the same way Wenger came from Japan after managing Grampus 8

Lets face it - there is more chance of it going the other way - but listen, I'm looking for anything positive at the moment.
Sorry: I still don't get it. What's Bilic's connection with Grampus 8?
And what's lilkely to go "the other way?"

i must admit i think maybe i dismissed mclarens achievements too lightly, at the time i was thinking bigger names but with the likes of martinez and grayson , i think mclaren would maybe not be as bad an option after all.

Agree. If it was Rafa, Ancelotti or Hughes I would be very happy. But after Martinez snubbed us and people start mentioning Grayson, Coyle, Hughton or even MON, I would rather have McClaren.

PS I would like to see Mick McCarthy's name mentioned. I really rate him highly.

God sake , it is like traching to 6yr olds.

So here we go children.

Slavan Bilic is a manager that has never managed in a top European league, and instead went into international football - which is not the usual way you get top jobs - you usually play for a team, do an apprentiship at a lower team, get a chance at a medium team, then if successful get a job at a big team. Fergerson comes to mind - St Mirren - Aberdeen - Man U.

So far ? - yes

Bilic didnt do that - he went straight into international football - and is now linked with Villa

Wenger went to the hotbed of football that is Japan - and then came to Arsenal. I cannot think of one single manager who has come from his only real job in Japan - to a top European team, in the same way I cannot remember one single person who did not coach / manage a club, then go to a national side, then a premier league side.

Now that is the good bit - appointing Bilic may turn out like Wenger

However, the other "nobody" that came to the Villa , the "does anyone know who this man is" was Dr Jo - and that didn't turn out quite so well.

Bilic could turn out either way - who knows.

Get it now. Seriously, does everyone around here read the Sun  - it really isn't difficult.

Saying "Manager X might turn out to be like Wenger" is the new "they gave Alex Ferguson 4/5 years at United".

Since becoming Villa manager he has become a keen fan of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, Black Sabbath and sterilised milk and is planning on moving into a two bed terraced house in the leafy suburbs of Kingstanding.

If you are going to quote - please quote the whole thing. What was the two sentences after that ?

Makes no difference - you and many other people have made this point in support of a certain manager and its fast becoming a cliche.

I've just seen Egil Olsen in Mr Egg.

I asked him about the Villa vacancy and he told me to "Fuck off".
