I'm yet to see any comment from the club saying we have been rejected by anyone. I'm also yet to see any comment from all the managers who have supposedly said no.

To those that know it all, please explain to this old fool why you believe anyone has turned us down thus far, if no-one anywhere has come out and said so?

I agree that it isn't easy to seperate noise and signal from the reports in papers, Twitter etc. but one has to try and find a way. That's why I said that "seemingly we don't have the pulling/spending power to get the likes of Ancelotti, Benitez or Moyes". Ancelotti has said publicly that he wants a year off; Benitez has reportedly asked for more money (to spend on players) than the board wants to give (this is, more or less, confirmed by a poster on here that is close to one of the board members); Moyes has publicly said that he isn't interested in the job.

But there is still nothing from any of them to confirm we have asked and they have rejected us - do you not find that odd in these days of reporters on door steps looking for soundbites?

No, because there is nothing to be gained by doing this. Benitez might still be interested and hoping that we Randy returns to his door with a huge transfer kitty. And Moyes might use our interest as leverage when negotiating his transfer budget at Everton. If they rejects us publically, it's definite.

Sorry to say your logic is flawed. There is no evidence anywhere to support the conclusion that someone has rejected us, none. Only made up media 'analysis', they would salivate at the chance to quote someone who has said NO.
Strange that they can't!

Yes, but I was argueing why candidates won't tell the media (directly) that they have rejected us. It doesn't make sense for them. That's probably why Ancelotti said that any contact from us (and Roma) was fantasy.

I can't imagine we'll be looking abroad now. What with the recent Royal mail price increase its going to be financially unrealistic to send letters out abroad. You're talking a tenner for signed for air mail and thats only tracked in this country. As soon as its out the uk it can end up anywhere.

Au contraire, mon ami.  Its been welcome relief from the current 336 pages of utter hairbrained panicked bollocks we've endured so far.

I still think McClaren is perfect for Aston Villa, as Aston Villa is perfect for him. Too bad too many fans are prejudiced with him(no offence), even though he has proven he can bring success.

You have to remember Aston Villa are a club who do things the right way or not at all

I have it on good account that Mr. Lerner does indeed desire an introduction with Mr. Moyes. However with him being 'new' money as it where, and lacking the contacts to engineer such a formal introduction, he is rather in a quandry how to proceed.  The other problem is Mr. Moyes' friendship with the ghastly Mr. Kenwright, who as you well know is in the theatre business, an occupation that a gentleman with Mr Lerner's social status cannot afford to be seen to be in association with. There has been suggestions that Mr. Lerner can ask his acquaintance, General Krulak to arrange a ball at which an introduction could be made on neutral ground as it were, but whether Mr Moyes would accept said invitation is a matter for debate as i hear he rarely leaves his home for social frivolities and lives a pious existance for the most part.

god i'm bored....

They'll all be at the Bilderberg meeting where part of the secret agenda is the fate of Aston Villa.

i must admit i think maybe i dismissed mclarens achievements too lightly, at the time i was thinking bigger names but with the likes of martinez and grayson , i think mclaren would maybe not be as bad an option after all.
