Grayson. Hmmm. We could do worse.

Could do a Hell of a lot better.

Five years into the regime and considering championship managers. How many of us would have predicted this in 2006?

Seemingly we don't have the pulling/spending power to get the likes of Ancelotti, Benitez or Moyes. My thinking is that we then have to choose between an experienced manager with a reasonable reputation but that appears to be on the wane (like Ranieri) or an up-and-coming promising manager with potential (like Grayson).

Oooh oooh Dave, why would you say Grayson, what do you know, is it cryptic?

Someone mentioned him above, and he's already with a club where there's pressure on.

Thinking about it, it's not the worst idea in the world. He could be our very own Moyes, he's done well there so far, even if they did blow it getting into the play offs. One to consider, i would'nt be against it.

Goodbye Stewart Downing, among others, if we appoint Grayson.

The most worrying aspect of the betting is that Alex McLeish is favourite... that really is insane!

Just looked at the latest odds and a few caught my eye.
Alan McInally 250/1
Ray Graydon   66/1
Kevin Keegan  25/1
Ian Holloway   20/1
Simon Grayson 8/1
Alex McLeish     3/1 favourite
The bookies list is starting to look like the other thread which started by listing everyone whos managed in the PL, but with league managers, European managers and ex-players thrown in too.
Grayson as a massive outsider. Forget the rest for me!

Grayson's not got a bad record though since he's been a manager. He's won promotion with two clubs and took Leeds to Old Trafford and won and he's built a decent side up there. It'll be interesting to see what he does with Leeds in the next couple of years.

Well I can't see that they would be daft enough to appoint McLeish, Moyes doesn't want it, so I suppose Grayson is the only contender from that list.

I think Ray Wilkins would jump at the chance of proving Chelsea were wrong to sack him.
I'd like to think the same but the way things seem to be going he's probably too busy finishing a jigsaw!

I'm yet to see any comment from the club saying we have been rejected by anyone. I'm also yet to see any comment from all the managers who have supposedly said no.

To those that know it all, please explain to this old fool why you believe anyone has turned us down thus far, if no-one anywhere has come out and said so?

I've been saying that all along, even had a heated talk with VillaMatt from talksport about this, but they seem to THINK they know "sources" when they talk crap.
