I dont think there is a doubt he would come.

It is well reported (in fact he says it himself in the quote when he denied the link with us) he is frustrated at Everton and in his words "wants to manage at a club he can give something" and "have a challenge"

I don't think there is a doubt he would hope this would be with Everton, and if he had a chance, he would stay and acheive it there.

But he can't take Everton any further. He has already been told he has no money this year, and from speaking to an Everton fan the other day, it is only ever going to get worse, with the ground issues.

No doubt if a bigger job than the Villa was available (and he isn't the kind of man Roman is looking for) he would look elsewhere, but there isn't.

That is not saying we are a bigger club than Everton, I think most of us agree we are very similar in size and history, it is just , contrary to media crap, we are in a better financial position at this time.

Anf Gervilla

The reason I will be happy with him is this. We have just had three of the best years we have had in over a decade. And Moyes finished above us on every occasion (edit since 2004 bar one) with less money. He has been top 8 every year since 2004 - so that is I believe the minimum we will get with him, and the best he can do - who knows.

He isn;t Ancelotti granted - but the stats say he is a better manager than the one we had, or the one we had previously.

He is also loyal, hard working and dont take crap from prima donnas

So why wouldn't I be happy

Seriously, hand on heart, how many of us think Moyes would come. Short of Maz, who is the eternal optimist. I would bet less than 5% would think Moyes would leave the comfort of Everton for us.

Hand on heart, no I don't think he would. I would be possibly the happiest person in the world if I was proven wrong though.

Check out Toffeeweb. They reckon any compensation for Moyes would be apoaching £10m.
Given their finances I reckon Kenwright would sting us for every single penny he could get.
They can have Heskey, Dunne and Beye to strengthen their squad.

I think our board could do with a 'football man' advising them on a thing or two.  Oh and Moyes, HTSOTP

I'm with Mazrim. I think he'd come given the right incentives. Moyes is in a financial cul-de-sac with Everton so unless he has no ambition then he's gettable. What Lerner has to do is stop acting like some throwback to some bygone age where we all politely write letters to clubs and ask to speak to their manager. I say bygone, but i'm pretty sure its never worked like that in my lifetime, if ever. Time to start swimming with the sharks.

Well we'll just have to wait and see won't we?

If you start with 1+1=3 most things are possible, but not probable. We have to think now, seriously, who would join our club and since RLs track record is MON and GH, then RM is a longshot. Is Moyes a longshot? Who knows - and that's my point - we don' t know if Moyes is deleriously happy or sad at Everton, which is a much bigger decider of the possibility than whether we want him or not.

I can only repeat what I've said before. I've been told by people up there that Moyes is a lot happier with the situation at Goodison than common perception would have you believe.

With regard to the "Rabbit out of the hat" option. I was listening to BBC Radio 5 Live this morning and they were speaking to the coach of an international team.
The said coach had no previous experience of coaching or managing at  League level, but said when asked, that if a club asked them if they were interested, they would be quite happy to talk to said club.
The Villa wasn't mentioned in the interview. It was a purely rhetorical question.
So just for fun and to lighten the mood.......Name That Coach!!
By the way the person was English!!

Stuart Baxter, manager of Finland?

Wrong again.
The person in question is the current coach of an international football team.

Well if that is the case and we do not end with Moyes by process of elimination we are basically down to Owen Coyle and Claudio Ranieri.

McLaren and Hughes are apparently no goes after MysteryMan said hell would freeze over before these two are appointed. Moyes from what you have heard is happy with his lot in Merseyside. Benitez wants too much money. Alex McLeish we could not go their could we!!

So we are down to two. Coyle and Ranieri both have premier league experience and are the two managers left on the bookies list, unless it is someone completely out of the left field.

Moyes, Coyle & Ranieri. Who wins Randy decides!

then he has no ambition. It's very unlikely he'll ever win anything on his budget, unless there's some new owner on the horizon
