I think the poll should be updated, if someone can up with any options.....
Delete Martinez and add The Rabbit Out of The Hat. ;D

I tried earlier but was (quite rightly) ignored.

Surely we should go with an AV option and add the Martinez votes to the voters 2nd choices?

Amazing how you can be offered a treble your money deal when YOU HAVENT EVEN SPOKE TO THE FUCKING CLUB OR BEEN OFFERED A JOB AT ALL!!!

Very true and particularly annoying.

My fear is however, that in the 'basket' of managers we're interested in, Martinez' near relegation football is on the list. We'd laugh McCleish out of town but how many points separated these two?

Admittedly we were close at one point  but I still think the whole smell of wanting Martinez is a bad one. We could and should do better, maybe we will, but we should at least be wise to the likes of Dave Whelan sounding his own greatness at our expense.

There. I'll sleep better now.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I think Billy McNeill could have done great things for us if he was given time and a pre season to mold his own squad.
Damn you Ellis we could have loads of European Cups by now.
Is "Bingo" Billy looking for a job ?

Can't say i was surprised about Martinez. He was on a hiding to nothing if he'd taken the job.. I'm strangely slightly impressed by the cut of his jib.

This is a more scientific way of deciding who we really want:

Seriously, hand on heart, how many of us think Moyes would come. Short of Maz, who is the eternal optimist. I would bet less than 5% would think Moyes would leave the comfort of Everton for us.

Unfortunately I agree. No doubt he's on the list but would be very very surprised

I'm hoping against hope he'll come. I doubt it very much then.

Hmmm.....there seems to still be about 50 names left. At this rate Lerner may actually choose one before you

When did Moyes become so desirable ?
Oh since the turkeys we've been linked with in the last few days.
Go Moysey !

It seems Martinez was just chosen as a promising (for some reason) up and coming manager amongst other (more worthy) candidates. No more no less. Probably rightly thought he wouldnt get the job.

With regard to the "Rabbit out of the hat" option. I was listening to BBC Radio 5 Live this morning and they were speaking to the coach of an international team.
The said coach had no previous experience of coaching or managing at  League level, but said when asked, that if a club asked them if they were interested, they would be quite happy to talk to said club.
The Villa wasn't mentioned in the interview. It was a purely rhetorical question.
So just for fun and to lighten the mood.......Name That Coach!!
By the way the person was English!!
