I don't really see what Risso has said that is out of order.

Sorry to disappoint you Pelty, but I couldn't afford the drop in salary, now would I wish to sully my CV by working for such a bunch of amateurs.  Anyway, can I ask in what capacity you're giving out information now?  It'd probably be better if the club were just open for a change rather than using a non exec-director's son to leak things on the sly. The last time you and the General acted in concert, Martin O'Neill ended up leaving.  You should be more careful.

Be that as it may, it does nothing to negate the fact that you know not a whit of what you speak yet seem to feel it that by being some sort of iconoclast, you are "sticking it to the man." Whatever gets your rocks off, Risso.

And similarly, if being used as some sort of unofficial mouthpiece to speak up for the gutless board of Aston Villa keeps you happy Pelty, then more power to you.

Out of order mate.

Bugger off Maz, I'm not being spoken to like that by someone who knows fuck all about English football, and is only wheeled out when the board are taking a bit of stick.  This is an independent supporters site where free speech is the order of the day, and I'm not going to wind my neck in case I upset somebody like Pelty.
No such thing as free speech on a messageboard. That's why we have moderators.

Pelty, regardless of your standpoint on all this, do you think it's clever to be getting involved in these arguments and risking it all ending up in the media?

Fair enough, paulie. I have said what I have to say, I guess. My issue is more with the alleged "lack of ambition" and mean-spirited statements about Randy, so I have said my piece.

Relax mate, I think everyone's just getting tetchy because of how the media are perceiving us, combined with the lack of info coming out of Aston Villa.  Majority of us still have a massive amount of respect for Mr Lerner.

I agree with this. You are free to make statements, but I am free to refute them.

But stop with those painful "knows fuck all about English football" jibes. They are so piercing...  ::)

I hope the moderators rules regarding banning are going to be applied consistently here by the way?

Yes. Long story and not entertaining enough to tell.

Time to cool it folks.

I admit it's uncomfortable to see us portrayed as a club who can't practically give the managers job away at the moment, but if the board have a specific name in mind and this is all just part of the dance I'll wear it.

Pelty - I want you to tell Randy from me that if Ancelloti is not happening, only Moyes will do. Or maybe Rijkaard. Do not under any circumstances employ McClaren. And i know more about football than anyone, so there.

Can we add an 'anyone who will have us' option to the poll. Lots of people will be pleased Martinez isn't coming. I'm a bit sad that Villa have become so 'bland' that the Wigan manager doesn't find us an attractive proposition. It doesn't matter whether he had an interview, was offered a contract or just turned down the chance to speak to us, the basic message is still there that to many people we are now on a par with the Wigans of this world.

I think we may now have to turn our attentions to the lower leagues and I therefore put forward Poyet again!

Of course they won't.

What risso is saying is disgusting, certainly not how a mod should act. He's abusing his position.

Ha! It is not as dire as that, but a measure of perspective is necessary.
