Why on earth are we saying anything about Martinez?

It just makes us look like we're scrabbling around trying not to offend anyone.

Good point.  Surely this was a statement for Wigan to make.

The latest in an ever increasing line of club gaffes.

I think the statement makes it clear that the media knows fuck all.  Martinez chose job security over interviewing for a position he probably wouldn't get anyway.

We must surely change our thinking now.  PL experience is good and obviously welcome but maybe we should widen our search.

Van Gaal? Rijkaard? Pelligrini? Lippi ?

Pat Murphy on 5 Live saying Curbishley or Coyle.

Lets start slagging them off to wind him up.

All change on oddschecker: Hughes new favourite, followed by Coyle and then McLeish, who has come from nowhere, although the only odds available on him seem to be from William Hill. Moyes has come in a bit too, as has Rijkaard. Martinez has obviously drifted out big time. It's like reporting the Grand National - I mean the race itself, rather than the build-up to it, the odds change so quickly.

Been my choice for a while (well, since it was clear Moyes or Ancelotti weren't coming anyway) and think it would be a good move.

Martinez was someone who interested us. We therefore approached Whelan and asked for permission. If he hadn't decided to open his mouth no one would be discussing this right now.

How this is a gaffe on our part is beyond me.

Because everything that happens is our fault and everything we do is wrong.
