How long is this gonig to drag on for? Fulham didn't piss about, and Chelsea seem to be getting on with their appointment of a manager in private. We're getting dragged about by speculation, it doesn't look good, or clever.

Oh come on, that is bollocks.  How on earth is all the speculation the clubs fault?  We have clearly targeted a few candidates and sought permission to speak to them without leaking a word.  How is that handling things badly?  The speculation comes from journalists seeking storeys and obsessive internet geeks like us on forums tracking planes all over fucking Europe.

We have handled ourselves with dignity and acted in exactly the right way.  If we started spouting names and failed to get them, then we would look like idiots who have handled it badly.  Get a grip FFS.

Maybe Houllier is assisting with the selection process with the prospect of GH moving upstairs?

See I can live with that, roberto as the manager motivating and gh upstairs attracting the talent sound promising to me. And with ged around if martinez starts to feel the strain then ged can help him out either physically or mentally

Maybe they asked him who he thought would be a good candidate to continue the work that he was doing, someone that could take over in as seam-less a way as possible. Who knows, maybe GH has been talking to that person, convincing them to move.

Who knows?! It's good this.

Red pill or the blue pill?

I don't know what to believe any more, although anything from TalkS**te I ignore anyway in the immortal words of the moose "Bob Bradley will be Aston Villa boss" that was the crux for me last year.

As for Adrian Durham he's your typical Posh fan, deserves a pistole whipping for his shenanigans.

I didn't say the speculation is the clubs fault. ; )

I can't claim to be an ITK as this has come from a relative's friend who works at Goodison but Villa have twice requested permission to speak with David Moyes and been refused on both occasions.
This is seen locally, as more an attempt to keep him at Goodison and thereby maximise the value of the club,  which is openly for sale to the highest bidder !
My own point of view is that this leaves Randy Lerner in an awkward position as he does things in the correct manner but still wants the opportunity to talk to David Moyes prior to making a decision.

I think Martinez would need someone upstairs helping him and I wouldn't object to that being Gezza.

I can fully believe all of that and it also ties into what MM was saying.

There's obviously a huge respect for GH within our football club. His opinion is obviously highly regarded. Involving him in this process can't hurt.

Because they can get away with sensational 'Villa can't get a manager stories' while they couldn't with Chelsea.

I could understand Kenwright refusing as he's knows Moyes runs that club from top to bottom - probably certs for relegation if he left. You'd hope Moyes would at least want to talk to us, but i can't see him turning on the club and demanding to talk to us

Moyes won't rock the boat at Everton.
