Incidentaly, thetrees on VT has confirmed that Lerner's jet is in Madrid today.

Didn't Whelan say Martinez was back from holiday?

Has he Paulie, another site has said the trees says the plane is in Corsica?

It has all gone quiet over there, and by that I mean Corsica/Madrid!

Quique Sanchez Flores is by far the most exotic sounding name we've been linked with and therefore I hope that it's him.

Quique Sanchez Flores! He'd be good.
Quique Sanchez Flores Claret n Blue Army!  Yes, it fits!

VillaMatt (off talk sport I think) is twittering that it is not going to be Martinez.
"We are hearing from a source that Roberto Martinez will not take the #avfc job. #dontshootthemessenger"

and a bit later

"I reiterate this only what we are being told, not an official line but a source that has been good to us in the past."

It is clear that no-one in the media has an idea who it is.  I'm starting to think that Randy is undecided too.

TheTrees spoke to the baggage handler at BHX and he was told the jet went to Corsica.

TheTrees was spot on last time when Randy went over to see Houllier in Corsica, but Houllier is in the UK staying close to the QE hospital...Maybe Corsica is a good place to interview managers or another manager lives there also...Who?

Noone knows anything.

is still pretty much the most accurate statement in 200+ pages.

Martinez isn't going to be offered the job tomorrow, he's thinking about whether he wants to talk to us. You'd think he was actually offered the job by some of the stuff on here.

Can't be a coincidence that it's Corsica again. My reckoning:

- changed mind and bringing Houllier back!
- consulting Ged on DoF role with 'bright young thing' as manager (Martinez, McAllister)
- Ged agreed to use it as a base for a quiet rendez vous, suggesting a middle ground with somewhere like Italy. So Ranieri or possibly Quique Sanchez Flores.

I'm guessing at option 3 but frankly I haven't a bloody clue.

I have doubts about the ability of Paul Faulkner that I have raised on more than one occasion. It was based on a nothing more than a feeling, but the events post MON firm up my belief. This story isn't over yet so judgement must be reserved.

That's as maybe, Mark, but just try saying his name out loud! It's like you're actually talking foreign!
