To be honest the way people have been ruled in and out on this saga, I won't believe who the manager is until they've signed on the dotted line.

martinez for me would be a huge letdown after some of the names we have been linked with.

Martinez for me would represent a massive kick in the nuts given that he's about the only one I havent backed...

If it is Martinez then my summing up of Randy Lerner would be this....great owner, shit at appointing managers. How the hell can Martinez be above Hughes, Benitez, or Jol?

Martinez would just signal that we're happy with mid table mediocrity. I'd rather we'd just kept Houllier to be honest.

if it were to be Martinez, then I would really believe that we are now going to start operate on the cheap.
We would be a massive step up for him, and he would be so grateful he wouldn't want big money to work with.

Sorry. If Randy thinks Martinez is the answer then he hasn't got a clue.

I think he would be exciting, very risky but exciting.  Plays good football and is young & ambitious, could build something long term with us

Don't like Martinez? Don't worry give it an hour and he will be pushed to the bottom of the list again.

I think the same about Martinez as I do about Poyet. They may play nice football but a club like us needs a manager who's either lifted major silverware or is consistently able to challenge in the top third of a proven league. Let somebody else take the risk - if they turn out to be world class bosses then good luck to whichever club takes the gamble. But not us, ta.

As you said earlier it would appear a little strange to spend so much money moving out GH simply to bring in Martinez.

I'm not seeing this at all, far too much of a risk at this point.
