i think it all points to the fact we have got our man and are just waiting to finalise things- moyes to resign tomorrow anyone?

hughes to everton? just waiting for him to return from hol and kick it all off?

You've changed your tune, thought Moyes publically turned us down?!!!

Good shout!

whilst watching the apprentice I have come up with an idea....

get the 8 most likely candidates to star in a TV series over summer, they get football based tasks to complete in teams, then Randy sacks one of them each week from the interview process....

I don't want to worry you  unnecessarily  at this fragile moment but about an hour ago I saw Alex McLeish's black Jaguar XJ (with him driving) coming from the direction of Villa park  on Thimble Mill lane as I came out of  Wing Yip  superstore.

I wonder if the interviews have been cancelled because Villa have got their man?

My Gus Poyet comment is pretty serious actually. If we want to improve the football we play, possibly lower the wage bill, open up foreign transfer markets and work with someone very familiar with Premier League football why wouldn't we? No Premier League management experience? Not a big deal for me.

By lowering the wage bill I mean the managers wage as well!

I think we "have a good chance" of getting our man - but I would be surprised if that man is Moyes.

Id take Myes - said at the start, he was my 2nd choice (however, as it went on I put Benitez ahead of him) - so dont get me wrong, I'd be happy with him.

But I think we are looking bigger and more glam than that - the minimum I am thinking now is Rijkaard - it may be Gaal - but I am pretty sure we are placing roses on the pillows of Carlo Ancelotti as we speak.

McLeish would indeed cause meltdown and not in a good way

Not knocking you at all Nirog. It's one of the resons Martinez appeals - he's still a bit raw but knows the game and seems to have a pretty clear idea about the way he wants his teams to play. Similar to Poyet: with a bigger club/budget etc the combination could be a really exciting one!

I'm only pulling your leg. I'd love to see him come here, and as MM says the choice will send things into meltdown,it could still be him. But two hours ago i was gonna buy a fake goatie beard to welcome the new guy,so fcuk knows.

Really?  He's done a decent job without any real funds.  Would also bring in Dann, Johnson and Foster, hopefully.  Perhaps not my first choice, but a brave decision if this was to be the case. Took them down for us too, wahay!!
