From Matt Kendrick

understand that #avfc have sounded out Steve McClaren's representatives. Whether SMc will be interviewed, I don't know

please God No

Its simply not going to happen.

You dont spend 24 million on Darren Bent and then put him in the hands of Steve Mclaren. Randys no fool.

Has to be Benitez or Moyes.

I'd rather stick needles in my own eyes and be watching paint dry ALL at the same time than have him.

FWIW McClaren is meant to be a pretty good and well respected coach.

But as a manager? Dear God, No...

Rafa, Hughes, Moyes in that order...

would Van Gaal necessarily be out of our league? Out of work and I believe the money and ambition is there for Randy to go after someone of this calibre

Smokescreens and mirrors . Villa maybe just not very happy about Ancelotti story and GH story being leaked a little prematurely thus throw a banana skin in  (-

How the he'll could mclaren possibly be regarded as a better option than rafa or Hughes?

It would be a hugely negative choice and would leave us in a real mess from day one- I'd expect the likes of downing and bent to look at their futures if mclaren is the best we can get .

Whats Hughes ever achieved? And as for Rafa, I will NEVER forgive his disrespectful pursuit of Gareth Barry in the media. McClaren certainly isn't my first choice, but better than those two.

Downing would probably cream his pants with daqddy coming to join him
