Steve McClaren does not deserve the job.

I'd be underwhelmed by Jol. Benitez is of a much higher standard and its crazy to be miffed with him from a professional point of view. Where just not in that kind of position yet.
I understand those who think he can be a bit of a bell end. I think so too.

I still reckon we've approached at least one manager in a job and been granted permission.

Moyes is the only one in a job that I could see we could at a push get and then be happy that he would take us forward. But I think Everton will be able to fend us off for him, so Hughes or Coyle are the most likely.

Ranieiri is an interesting shout for one with prem experience, well respected and out of work.

Coyle? I'm unsure. He faded away big time last season. I think he has something, but I'd rather see what he does at a club like Bolton over a sustained period. Maybe 5+ years to get a good gague of what he is capable of elsewhere.

Whoever they are, it shouldn't just be interview based. They should be forced into Apprentice style tasks with Randy telling one person each task that they are fired.

If Matt Kendrick dose'nt know who Randy is going to interview, then how does he know if they've got PL experience or not?

I guess he's been given a hint from his source and judging by the accuracy of his reporting on the story so far, I'm inclined to believe it.

I dont think it's a case of fending us off. I think it's a case of letting Moyes go somewhere he can push on a bit.
Everton haven't got a pot to piss in. In fact their pisspots are on lend-lease. He will never realise his ambitions there and has given them enough service. As long as Everton are financially compensated (and they would be) I dont see them having a major problem. Obviously they'd be disappointed.
I reckon Moyes would have been tempted last year if the opportunity was earlier in the summer.

He's still my tip.

Ranieri is a character but would be a mistake I think. If we're going for an out of work manager it has to be van Gaal or Benitez now.

Doesn't matter re what they have. He is contracted to them, and I can't see him agitating the move.
