I've been badly treated ,nobody welcomed me when i was a virgin.

And i was threatened with an umbrella.

Perhaps if you'd called yourself Desdemona it might have been different.
Whore. :)

That's what i thought or "bitch" maybe, actually its not that funny as my actual name is actually Desmond

Dissappointing if we've really not been in contact with Ancellotti, not too late to try though.

If he isn't up for it it still leaves some good options i think.

My preferences.

1st. Benitez/Van Gaal. (Good Records/Experienced/Raise our Profile)
2nd. Hughes. (Think he doesn't take any shit, teams work hard, hideously ambitious)
3rd. Moyes. (Same as Hughes but maybe substitute loyalty for ambition)
......
......
......
1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th. Schteve Mcclaren (Not a bad coach maybe, though an underwhelming record, but this would be a PR disaster and would put immense pressure on the team)

My gut feeling all along has been Moyes. I hoped for Ancelotti (and still do) but think it will be Moyes in the end.
And that's fine.

I have a feeling just a feeling that the deal has already been done. Please please can we have moyes, please.

The thought of McLaren is just too hideous for words.

To my mind, this means one thing and one thing only. Benitez.

Please not McClaren, please Randy no.

Do we need a new thread/petition to make our collective view on McClaren clear and loud for Randy?

I'm not giving up on Ancelotti on the basis of a couple of translated quips in a Guardian article. I'm clinging to the hope that it is just the normal bollocks spouted by managers when asked what next job will be.

The original interview appears to come from La Stampa - Clicky , and they seem to be asking him if he'll take the Arsenal job when he says no English club has spoken to him.

I'm hoping Archie comes on to tell us that it's all a misinterpretation.

I happen to think Schteve is a bloody good coach and one day will reinvent his reputation over here.
However, its a bit too soon for him just now and I'd rather it not be us to give him a chance back in the Premier League.

There's no misinterpretation there, sadly.

Ancelotti non allenerà l'anno prossimo, lo scriviamo?
«Sì. Non ho fretta né l'esigenza».

"So, next year Ancelotti won't be managing anyone. We can write that?"
"Yes. I'm not in a hurry and don't need to."

The Arsenal thing is just a follow on question to that.

Christ there’s some hysteria on here right now. Randy will get the best man for the job and there’s nothing we as fans can do to influence it. Randy is also patently aware that McClaren is seen in the UK as damaged goods due to his England stint. His appointment will create a PR sh** storm, stoked by a hungry press who’ve never forgiven him for the England failure.
At the same time, McClaren must know that if he is to make a return to the UK he would be far better served by joining a club with less of a profile and expectation than us.
On these facts alone, I very much doubt that McClaren will be the new manager.

People seem open to Roberto Martinez as a possibility with a career highlight of barely avoiding relegation with Wigan twice.

Find it strange how someone who has coached at Man Utd and England as a no.2, and been head coach with Boro, England, FC Twente and Wolfsburg is being ranked lower than him. He could have done a Curbishley or Allardyce and waited around for some job in the UK to fall in his lap but showed guts to head off to Twente and later Wolfsburg. Not a good idea if the fans are overwhelmingly against him but I think he will be a good choice for someone.

Would prefer Benitez. Ancelotti seems to have ruled himself out. Benitez would be a big signing for the football club if we are serious about raising our profile. Should just get the deal done quickly now and be done with it.

England is that last unconqured major league that Van Gaal hasn't cracked.  I'd love him at VP.

The main thing with Benitez, didn't he say in an interview that he would want 'total control' at whatever club he went to?

We had enough of that with O'Fuckface.

I don't think McClarens CV even comes into it. He'd be a disaster before he even had a chance to show how good a coach he is.

Our previous manager had the greatest pedigree of any manager we have ever appointed but within a matter of months a lot of the fans were against him, partly for off field comments rather than purely our results, and we were then in serious trouble.

Our next appointment should, with the available candidates, be someone who will unite the players, supporters and outside opinion into regarding our prospects with real optimism and that shows a serious level of ambition.

At the very least we can't afford to appoint someone who has negative baggage attached.
