The ancelotti odds shortening are presumably the result if a few flutters rather than insider info? These markets are notoriously movable.

I also wouldn't be surprised if villa were asked if Hughes was about to be appointed, they said no, and that turned into us not being interested. I just can't see why he wouldn't at least be on the list

He's given a months notice at fulham so I doubt we'd come out and say he was our new manager this early in the game.

For what it's worth (which is naff all) I was told he was seen on the M6 today but I guess he could have been going shopping.

I have come to conclusion Sky know sod all, it is in fact, Talk boll... with fit women !. At 3pm today it was Hughes quits Fulham, at about 4pm, it was Hughes set for Villa, at 8pm, its Villa not interested in Hughes.

And, given the name, I presume Sky Italia are the same.

Wierd situation for me. If Ancelotti, Jol, Moyes and Benitez said no, and we ended up with Hughes, I'd be OK with it. It was just the thought that we went straight for him when there was others (and plenty more apart from those like Gaal , Basten, Roykyeard etc..) available.

If we are trying to get Carlo - I'll be nearly as ecstatic as when we got Bent (Bent tops it though , wanted him 4 yrs, Carlo I've wanted for 4 weeks)

Roykyeard
Your grasp of names is almost as impressive as your counting.

Is it really that hard to get even half the letters of Rijkaard correct?

Doesn't Hughes also live in Manchester still?

Forgot to say.

Call me cynical, but I would think Villa would have sounded out who-ever we wanted prior to GH's decision.

Lets face it, all the pointers was to him returning then suddenly in three days it changed , and the subsequent statements confirmed it was more than health.

I dont think we would have been so stupid to think "We'll sack GH and go for CA" - surely as he was a free agent (or who ever we want if it isnt Carlo) we would have sounded him out prior to deciding to sack him.

He's half right - "ij" in Dutch can be substituted for a "y".

Put that in you pipe !

And as for the o - its only coz I'm in bed and the O and I are next to each other.

I am sorry, I obviously didn't know Stephen Hawkins was monitoring my grammatical content.

Fair play to them, so.

But you should know that, according to NY art rock combo Interpol, there is no "I" in "threesome".

Some geezer from that Wolvo rag on twatter:

"Talks far too early a stage to commit money, but Carlo would offer a better risk than Hughes in my opinion"
