Where's Malcolm with his level headed take on all things Villa related?

He will wait until a decision is made.

And then he will give his verdict.

He is a one man tribute act to Statler and Waldorf.

Apparently, Sky Italia have said that Carlo will turn down AS Roma to manage Villa.  Talksport mentioned this earlier.  Lets hope its true.....

Is there an echo in here?

Apologies if I have repeated what someone has already posted.  Some of us are at work and dont sit on here all day reading every comment made by other members.

Well, in an ideal world Ancelotti would be my first choice, but wouldn't be too disappointed with Hughes or Moyes either. Then would come Benitez, Jol and Coyle. McLaren is a non-runner, as he'd have absolutely no good-will from the fans meaning he'd be essentially a dead man walking before he even started. Curbishley would be even further down the list, just above DOL.

If truth be told,  I think I should be Aston Villa manager. Not knowing what to do wouldn't be a problem, I'd just start an AV team and subs selection thread on here every Saturday morning. I'd also need to be able to bring Chris Smith on as assistant (so he could big me up during my regular absences for 'scouting' and getting back to do the the missus' ironing).

If you get the gig, can I put myself forward as your 'Habib Beye'?  I'd be very happy to not play football for a fraction of his wages.
Do you think you could play in the Salifou role instead as he had a better song?

Just on my break at work and had a quick flick through a couple of papers and browsed a few websites, so its no clearer who'll we'll appoint, in fact the only certainty at the moment is that the media don't have a clue whats happening with our club, you just know they hate it aswell.

Yep - I'm equally adept as a non-playing midfielder as I am as a non-playing right back.

If Ancelotti comes, he can bring Anelka with him too, if he is surplus at Chelsea!!

If it is to be Hughes, hopefully he can go back to Rovers and get that Junior Hoilett, he looks class.

Was just thinking. I'm hoping Carlo will be our new manager but that's based on Butch Wilkins coming with him as his number two. I wonder what Wilkins position is re getting back into coaching seeing as though he has his feet nicely under the Sky Sports table. Would he take it? If he wouldn't would we still want Carlo?

Wasn't the only reason Wikins was assistant because Ancelotti was not fluent in English. If so he is much improved now and Sid will know some italian from his time there.

Why break something if it works. We've just seen with GH what happens when you don't have the right team around you. I really believe we'd never have had so many 'off-pitch' problems, not to mention the defence if GH had managed to bring with him Patrice Berges.

I'd more than welcome Wilkins. I'm sure they'll be a place for Sid too.

Ancelotti odds shortening, down to 5/2 at Paddy Power. Tried to sign up foor a free bet of £25 at William Hill at 7/1, but couldn't work out how to claim it. Odds there now shortened to 5/1.
