It would be foolish not to. Ticks all the boxes.
Also very ambitious and a real signal of intent to compete rather than just make up numbers.

I reckon it would possibly be a considered "thanks but no thanks", but that shouldn't stop us from trying anyway.
I hope there is some truth in this.

well you never know, I thought we had no chance of getting MON and Curbs would be appointed.

Anyone managed to read the article on Sky Sports website: 'Moyes rejects Villa rumours?
Been clicking on it occasionally since yesterday morning and all I get is 'sorry we can't display article'.
Just wondered what it said.

I doubt the contract thing will matter, I would imagine part of his severance package would have to be given back if he took on another job in the Prem but I would have thought that would be much cheaper than paying compensation to get a manager under contract.

Would be an interesting choice.  Could just be a reminder to M. Hughes that we won't wait about for weeks while he decides.  On Hughes, I heard John Cross form the Mirror on the radio this morning saying that we'd be lucky to repeat our finish of 9th in the table next season.  He said our only 'glimmer of hope' is that Hughes isn't on a lengthy contract at Fulham (who he 'loves' apparently).   He obviously goes to the same school of ignorance as Oliver Hoult.

Carlo's odds went out to 25-1 last night, now down to 6-1 at most places.  Hughes still odds on mind you.

He was reportedly on £6m a year at Chelsea, so I wouldn;t be too sure about that.

Some scouse bloke was on Talk Shite last night saying something similar.  As usual, they ignore us when we're decent so probably genuinely think we're only ever mid-table or lower.  What got me was they said it would take a long time for Villa to get back to the top 6 after one season out, yet Liverpool are strong contenders for top 4 despite two seasons out of that.  The hypocracy was almost laughable.

Those odds mean very little. It's just a tool the media use to keep people interested and enables bookie to draw people in. Only reason the odds change dramatically is when big amounts of money are put on somebody. How many people actually be on these things?

Any of the above poll bar Curbishley would be ok I think. Certainly a better selection than when we ended up with Houllier. Key thing is to get the man in over the next couple of weeks.

With the amount of money we've spent on average players wages and transfer fees recently, its a no brainer to go out and break the bank and try and get Carlo. Would show that we won't settle for second best.

I caught the last part of a piece on R5 last night, and for once they were quite up about Villa stating it was a very exciting job.  I think we undersell ourselves sometimes.  I hate the term sleeping giant, and dont think it reflects well on us.  We have good youth, excellent training ground, one of the best stadiums in the country and loyal fans.  Thats what the piece said, and what I think to.  Any of those managers would be lucky to manage us.  Not us lucky to get them
