Clean slate for me and I wish him the very best of luck

Have seen far worse things down the Villa over the years

He is one brave boy I have to say (though no doubt a very well remunerated one too) given the background to all this and the need to almost completely reinvent the team - I just hope both he and Randy are now super motivated to prove most of us wrong. I know I would be in his position

He's duped Lerner, money is what its about, think about it, if you wanted to earn a quick few million in the shortest possible time in terms of severance.

He's got every reason in the world to fall flat on his face and scream the situation was impossible and walk with a pocket full, nothing whatsoever to do with bravery.

If you don't mind too much, I'll stick to my opinion and you can have your own say on the matter which I think you have done and which I respect...

So that £2m is basically Villa saying we don't want a long drawn out legal battle and Small Heath knowing deep down they would lose anyway.

Or is basically Villa making an admission of guilt about tapping him up, knowing deep down that they'd be forced to pay more after a drawn-out legal case. As happened with a semi-recently departed manager.

He will come with my support and I have a feeling he will do a better than decent job.

Good luck to the man.

I've had a " Lerner is a bluenose" text. Thanks Randy this is embarrassing.

Well this is true, and cheerfull.

Someone should start the newer and revised version of this thread.

The "So who will be a next Villa manager come Jan 2012" version.

I'm going to start with Van Gaal........Flores............

At least it'll be a struggle to find anyone more disappointing.

Nice to think H and V will get back to some semblance of normality after the weekend - it has got far too much like VT these last few days and I have been sticking well clear of it for that very reason...

I really don't get what the noses have got to crow about. McLeish was their last hope of saving themselves from oblivion, now everyone apart from the completely desperate managers will turn them down because their owners are a bunch of jokers that are clearly a nightmare to work under.

40/1 for relegation looks a massive price considering they have no money and are losing anyone that's any good.
