I'm trying my hardest not to get embroiled in all this speculation, but I'm not strong-willed enough!

I just can't see a world in which we'd appoint Big Eck over hughes or Ranieri. And I really think both would be interested, especially Hughes. Have bridges been burnt there though?

I do believe we'd ask about Mcleish, but only in the same way we've done with others.

My biggest doubts are that we actually did get down to a last 3 with Curs in it last time. There were extenuating circumstances, but the fact we were genuinely considering Curbs at all is a concern.

A relatively decent source I have did hear about Martinez before the story broke, but said there had been no mention of Mcleish at that point a least.

Rafa is looking like  Mourinho to me at the moment..

Surely if we think it's worth the time to negotiate the £5m fee with Birmingham City, then it's worth the time to negotiate with Rafa about his wish/demand for total control.

Randy has just spent £30m on players in January, would he really choose a mug like McLeish to look after them?

I've far more faith in the fella.

Well SKY, BBC Radio, BBC TV and the Birmingham Mail are all reporting the same thing now so make out of that what you want

Well, two of those are the same corporation, Sky have'nt got anything right as yet and the B'ham Mail called our new manager 'Mr X' the other day.

I contacted Mat Kendrick about that and he confirmed it was a typograpihical error. It should have read Mr T.

This is what i cant get my head round. They went for GH because of his work with young players, wealth of knowledge of the game, good contacts in Europe.

What has McCleish got ? Two relegations and a knack of buying our rejects.

Professor X?

A lot in common with McLeish, they've both managed mutants.

bensmith_Times Ben Smith
Have seen the email #AVFC sent to #BCFC. Explosive stuff from both sides but what is clear is Villa want McLeish.

Kippax TV is reporting that Hughes will take over on July 1st and is actually negotiating the compensation with the wedding venue for the cancelled Ashley Young wedding and the flying wingers pending transfer to Manure.

Sorry, lost me with the wedding reference!

Journo's (respected ones) are saying they have seen the email from Villa sent to Small Heath.

This better be nothing more than a smoke screen.

Midlands Today is so shit!!! - they've just gone over to reporter Ben Sidwell standing outside Villa Park with the £5.4 million pound question "Is Alex McLeish really going to take over at the club?" To which roving reporter Ben replies "I just spoke to the club" And BAMM! The tele locks up!! Not once but TWICE!! ARGH!! Even the tele can't handle it!!
