MM , having Dave Whelan and Ian Taylor come out and say RM is our prime target, surely this isnt the name you thought was at the top of the list a week ago,,, is it ???

I think Dave Whelan could legitimately be said to have a vested interest, and how much does Ian Taylor really know?

No it isn't I think there is another twist in store but who knows cos I certainly have nothing concrete to go on . It's now down to scraps probaly no more in the know than anybody else if truth be known now .

It's weird, with regards to PR. We really don't do anything wrong - well, we don't really do anything, press-wise - and yet we do seem to come out badly in the media. I suppose those two things are related.

If martinez is and has been our No.1 target, you have to wonder who is advising the board on our manager search. Im not anti-martinez but with the managers available when we started this search and a real statement of intention that could come from that, martinez is very were happy to be a mid table team, which is massively dissapointing.

Other than Ancelloti, what manager (of those mentioned) would've been a real statement of intent?

Benitez? Jol? Moyes? possibly klinsmann, any of those shows more intent to be more than a mid table team for me than martinez, and would attract better players?

We have to remember although it seems like ages its only been about a week and a half since Houllier was asked to leave, even though it has seemed like ages! And the Wigan chairman confirmed we contacted him 10 days ago now so the board havent been sitting on their hands. I HOPE we have a new manager by Monday and Im sure we'll know 1 way or another by then. Young was always going, its a formality, Downing still has 2 years left and regarding other transfers Im sure they are always scouting players whether its a manager employed or otherwise.

Embarrassing that we moved for him in the first place
Embarrassing that he has turned us down
Embarrassing now that anyone after this will be second choice to Roberto Martinez.

Dear oh dear Randy what are you playing at as for the life of me I cannot see it.

Is it my turn to be the ITK yet?

Go on then, you've earned it.

Thanks Chris. Joe Kinnear and Ian Dowie, dream ticket, you heard it here first.

I think this will be spun into 'Martinez turned us down', but whether or not that is the case we won't know until a knew manager IS appointed.  If it's the likes of say Rijkaard then why would someone so further up the managerial tree than RM say yes when he said no?  If not then it looks like the job isn't attracting the right calibre of manager and that is a worry.

That is probably because even the club no longer have a clue.  If they ever did in the first place.

To appoint Hughes now is an enormous back track

This past year the way this club has been run has been nothing short of a circus.  Lessons not learnt at all.

If you're right then we have dodged a bullet. Wigan will be relegated next season, there are three better teams than them coming up.
