The winner is Martinez, he gets a pay rise.

You don't think that the club have used Martinez to frighten us into welcoming Hughes like the saviour?

I honestly do not believe it was offered to him, but we'll find out more from Wigan today as Villa will not comment.

Not sure it will be MH at all, Kendrick was saying he'd be astonished. But I always thought he was a good candidate from day 1

If martinez is and has been our No.1 target, you have to wonder who is advising the board on our manager search. Im not anti-martinez but with the managers available when we started this search and a real statement of intention that could come from that, martinez is very were happy to be a mid table team, which is massively dissapointing.

Other than Ancelloti, what manager (of those mentioned) would've been a real statement of intent?

If RM turns us down then this PR Disaster continues

How is a PR disaster?  We've kept a dignified silence and gone about our busiess quietly.  What are we supposed to do, comment on every name speculated on to appease the fans?  You (and I) may not agree with who the club is going after (the only name officially leaked and not by us), but that is not a PR disaster.  What else could the club do to avoid this 'disaster' other than appoint a manager of your choosing, instantly, whether he wants to join us or not.

Stop talking melodramatic bollocks.

MM , having Dave Whelan and Ian Taylor come out and say RM is our prime target, surely this isnt the name you thought was at the top of the list a week ago,,, is it ???
