I geuninely don't know who it will be but know who it won't be if that makes sense

You've lifted me from a depression, temporarily at least.

If we take MM's info as reliable, which it usually is, and subtract those who are clearly out of the running no matter how much we don't like it, and look at the favourites for the job, that leaves:

Benitez
Coyle
Martinez
Rijkaard

Rijkaard then Coyle for me from that list....

Still leaves Moyes and Ancelotti. I have not seen anything to convince me they are completely out of the running.

Jol was my favoured choice with Chris Hughton as assistant. With Jol going to Fulham that's obviously gone down the pan so for me now it's Moyes or FSW. I'd also have taken Hughes as I think he would bring some discipline to the senior players. Unfortunately I think the only manager who would have had a chance of us keeping Ash was Ancelotti and he looks to be out of the equation now.

Hugely relieved to see MM say it won't be McClaren though

Rijkaard would be a dream. Loads of experience and success, good track record of youth development, good attacking football from his teams, and from the Ajax and Cruyff schools of football. Yes please.

I'm glad Randy isn't rushing it, but at the same time, he's setting himself up for a fall with a lot of fans if he makes the wrong call at the time.

I can't believe that McClaren would be second choice to Ancelloti. One guy who's won everything,to another who's a bit of a laughing stock.

I might lump on Rafa ,anyone got his latest odds ?

To me its all pointing towards Benitez now. We know he wants the job, available, best record out of those remaining. Unless RL is considering some candidate without premiership experience which seems doubtful, I reckon he's our man.

I could go with Rijkaard, a little bit of excitment and unknown. Could he be our Guillt??
