I remember Kirsty Gallagher announcing about 12/13 years back that we'd had a bid accepted for Pedrag Mijatovic. Read in the Holy Trinity a few years after that "somebody" at Villa Park had pulled the plug on the deal. Wasn't Gregory interested in Hakan Sukur for a while? I remember a tenuous link once to Carlos Roa, the keeper who saved David Batty's penalty.Which would have been great cos he was crazy mental! Dennis Bergkamp is one of those names, apparently he just hated the idea of living in Birmingham. Another dutch master we missed out on was Van Nistelrooy, who was apparently nearly persuaded along by Luc Nilis, one of his close mates.

Not sure about the legitimacy of these, but they're ones I've often heard about.
