Aston Villa Old Stars next game is v Clements 83 old boys, this Sunday 29th May at the Glades , Lugtrout Lane, Solihull, B91 2RX. Kick Off 3.00pm.

It's part of a family funday with lots going on for adults and kids, stalls, snacks, bar, disco/karaoke, bouncy castle, ice cream van, kids penalty shoot out and more.

All monies raised go to Macmillan Cancer Support. The Old Stars will be putting a strong side out, with the usual players plus the debut of Gareth Farrelly.

We're hoping to be there for the first half.  Then need to get to London.

They won 7 (or maybe 8)-1.

Players included Sid, Colin Gibson, Des Bremner, Ken McNaught, Pat Heard, Andy Comyn, Brian Small and Mark Burke, who scored a hat-trick, I think. Also in attendance were Chris Nicholl, Neil Rioch, Jimmy Brown & Tony Morley.

Gents, I played against these lads today & I cant tell you how good they were. Sid was a fantastic player, forget he is in his 50s, he ran the midfield against players more than half his age who play in the mid comb/coronation premier. Mark Burke, who didnt really make it, looked a world beater & no one could get near him. Total class.
Just shows how far the gap is between average sat/sun players & these lads
