Delph was class today motm for me.

Anyone of the defense for MOTM really or Bent for the goals. Delph was too poor when on the ball to be MOTM although for most of the rest of the play he defended well.

I predicted us getting a real tonking.  Dinner tonight will be a starter of humble pie followed by a main course of my hat.
Same here, I am gladly warming up my words.
Great win... Bent really is worth every penny.

We needed  a satisfaction, one of the few of the season.:)
Well done Villa, UTV.

But we must not deceive ourselves, it's too easy with the  "ramshackle" Arsenal that we saw today, the impression is that their players were playing against their own manager.
On a hilarious note,  with Richard Dunne in action it's quite sure that you can't keep a clean sheet. The way he marked van Persie is simply ridiculous.

Richard Dunne, a couple of mistakes aside was immense today. Not sure what game you watched.

To everyone saying the team had quit on the management take a look at that. I know McAllister might not be the most popular bloke at the club, but the players fought for him today. They could have thrown in the towel. We were safe and the players that supposedly wanted GH/McAllister out could have sent a real message the board. In the end, they worked together, rode their luck, caught some big breaks, but have a forward that given guilt edged chances puts the ball away.

Work on the defence, get younger and faster, and bring in some solid players to replace the departing and we could be in good shape. The summer is now going to be massive.

Well well well....... no lack of fighting spirit there. We rode our luck but a committed performance from nearly everybody. Bent is a class class act. two chances and bang in the net. Where would we be if we'd had him from the start of the season? Breathing down Liverpool's neck?

On the negatives:

Dunne - given the amount of times its happened this season there has to be a point when the line between unthinking ineptitude and willful sabotage is crossed. I suggest the club check his bank statements for any payments from SHA Holdings ltd.

Delph - sorry but he looks a very very limited player to me

Overall a good effort and a nice reposte from GM to all his critics.

Onwards and upwards  REVOLUTION NOT EVOLUTION

Delph was very good today, off the pace a bit but that's to be expected.

Didn't I tell you we'd win?
Bloody doom-mongerers!

Bent would be the easy MOTM pick for the goals but Reo-Coker and Collins were immense out there and Brad made some crucial saves.

Onwards and upwards.

Great strikes from Bent; then a mixture of some good defending, favourable refereeing decisions and a bit of luck.  After the season we've had, I think we deserve it.

Great stuff, I had a fiver on us at 7-1 to win as well!

As an aside, is Van Persie going grey?

And as another aside, that was a disgustingly biased commentary, Alan Smith ought to be ashamed as a Villa fan

Do you think it would ever be possible to watch Villa leading 2-0 and actually enjoy it without having your eyes glued on that little box showing the time in the left hand corner?

That was Walker's best defensive performance since he joined.

Freidel - 9 - Rolled back the years
Walker - 8 - Very good allround game
Young - 7 - Gritty and determined
Dunne - 8 - Got better as the game went on. Solid.
Collins - 6 - Looked like he'd got a cock up in him and it proved to be. Not all bad tho.
A Young - 7 - Quieter than usual but good when involved
Petrov - 6 - Faded badly after good first half
Delph - 6 - Got better after bad first half
NRC - 7 - Used ball well, but caught watching at times
Downing - 8 - Great outlet
Bent - 9 - MOTM Super centre forward display, 2 goals, his first was Klinsmann like
Bradley - 6 - He's not a bad footballer but looks lost in this league.

Overal very good display, defence looked quite solid overall for a change and good up top. My only critisism is that i can't fathom how the Arsenal midfield and strikers dropping deep had so much room in the midfield areas despite us having three in there.

Thought the entire back four played really well. Bit Keystone Cops for their goal but they showed that throw your body on the line determination from the past few years, especially Dunne.
Walkers ball in for Bent's finish was sublime and the finish should be goal of the week, superb!
Credit where it's due to GMac and the management team, three CM's worked well to frustrate Arsenal and going forward in the first 20 minutes we looked really good.
Here's to still being top flight nexct season!! Cheers lads and lasses!!
