Sadly, I'll take the point on saturday that virtually guarantees safety.
Then on monday I'd like to see The Board make a decision one way or the other on Houllier's suitability to manage the club or not next season, and take appropriate action if necessary so we have a fit man at the helm come June..

2-0 comfortable...

...win the Wigan.

I just have no confidence in the Villa, even less now Gary MuckAllister is covering.

You just know the "Houllier Issue" will drag on for weeks, well into the summer and leave us weeks behind everybody else in preperation for the new season leading to a repeat of this season.

I hope you're wrong Ger but i'm worried you might be right.

This season has been such a shocker that I almost don't care about the result. I just want us to stumble our way to mathematic safety, whether that's a point or a win, so we can start to making the neccesary changes that are required, new Management team, players moved on and new one's bought in by new Mangement team etc.

I've never known a season last as long as this one has.  Can we get it over on Saturday please.

2-0 Wigan, courtesy of Charles N'Zogbia and Hugo Rodellega. Possibly a late consolation from Bent.

I just have so little confidence in the Villa at the moment - I can almost guarantee that their goals will come from set-pieces. Please prove me wrong, McAllister.

2-0 as it's about time we beat these horrible, time-wasting shitters. Oblivion beckons.

Depressing though it sounds, I think we need to make sure we don't lose. There's a pretty high chance we could lose both our last 2 games and having done the BBC predictor it could still be pretty damn tight if we lose this one. Heskey in for gabby, and    Stan and NRC in the middle for me

Yep, we're usually better against teams who try to play a bit, so fingers crossed.

I said the same thing before the Albion game last week and we all know what happened there. Let's hope GM keeps his tactical brainwaves to himself and keeps it simple.

Heskey to start in place of Gabby for me, although i'd love to see Fonz alongside Bent. Having two strikers on the pitch who know where the net is would be a welcome change.

I'll go for a win. If we can't beat these at home, we deserve to be where we are.

Wigan will defend deep and try to hit us on the break as West Brom did.

The pitch will certainly be well watered.

It's been pissing it down for the last hour.

And half the night, too. Although just spoke to my Dad who is down in Somerset who said it stopped there half an hour ago and the sun has come out so I am hoping that it is heading this way.

We've had such an awful season, that I've sunk to levels of hoping Blues get relegated, meaning a Wigan victory is probably needed for that to happen. Sorry, but that's where I'm at right now. Usually I wouldn't concern myself with them, but the only thing I could take in some sort of positive manner from this season would be if Blues get relegated.

Aston Villa 0-1 Wigan
