What happens if two or more people finish level on points in the GTC table at the end of the season, is there some sort of "goal difference" to decide who gets promoted/relegated/the title?

This is quite a likely occurrence.
What will happen is that those who have hardly submitted a guess, but survived the last cull, will be removed if this helps the situation.
If it is still tied somewhere then I will look at the person with the highest individual score on one match taking preference. If that doesn't sort it, I will think of something. 

My idea, you could work out who was closest with their last guess of the season... a bit like in the Guess The Crowd Cup competitions. That would give it an end of season play-offs type feel. If it goes on alphabetical order I'm changing my username to aaaaaaaaaaaacdvillafan!

I agree with the closest guess for the last match being the decider. This will apply in the selection process for promotion and relegation.
