Nice little local club and funny to see them punch above their weight. If it wasn't for that cnut Ally Brown I'd almost like them but in reality they're just another local team. The games with them always feel like a proper old fashioned derby, good atmosphere, two teams going at it and a Villa win.

The difference between Albion and the Rags is the Albion know their place and generally abide by the rules. Albion at least over the years have something to boost about but still have enough self respect to understand they're happy just to survive and if they can produce a decent team, ever better. The Rags are just scum. Simple as. There's no dignity at the Sty, never has been and probably never will be. They really are a stupid little club.

One of my enduring memories of Albion was seeing a woman get runover pre-game on the Soho Rd
She got up, brushed herself down and carried on with her day without batting an eyelid, it was a strange afternoon

Their inverse snobbery is both amusing and irritating. They love to play the down-trodden club and revel in failure.

The fact that if you’d have tuned in to Tom Ross after every match since 1985 then you’d have been regaled by Albion fans of how they’ve outplayed the Villa and how they play football, blah, blah, blah.

I hate them on the day of the game and in the build up, but what I like most about the derby, is the condescension and patronising way we wind them up. While its certainly true for those on the Yammer border or those who live in the Black Country hate them, a great swathe of Villa fans get up the self-proclaimed kings of football noses by metaphorically patting them on the head.

They’re not in the Coventry sphere of “meh”, but the level of general disinterest we show them compared to the volume of hate that comes back our way, amuses me.

Any Villa fan who says that he likes/doesn't mind/finds em funny or is indifferent to those stripey mofo's needs to live among them for a while, they are scum pure & simple. They generally live in denial, Wolves are apparently their rivals, (although this is largely fabricated rivalry in my opinion) but they save there proper anger for the Villa. It is only our own larger rivalry with the Blues that make us look the other way with regards to them. But trust me if (god forbid) they win on saturday us front line fans will feel just like we all do when the Blues defeat us. That must not happen.

I live and work in West Brom. The people I work with are mostly Albion, and are really likeable people. the plastic scousers annoy me a lot more. I spend a lot of time in Halesowen as my inlaws live there. The local pubs are always full of Albion fans, who cheer an Albion win as much as a Villa defeat. I really want to beat them, just for shits and giggles. I dont hate them, although I feel I should do. I agree, the indifference really winds them up.

Having lived in Shirley / Solihull / Kings Norton / Stirchley all my life Olbyon fans have always been scarce to non existent and I have developed an unhealthy and blindingly irrational hatred for SHA. Thanks to my Mother having grown up in Handsworth however she tutored me from afar regarding the reasons as to why I should hate the olbyon!

Other than their bitterness and hatred towards us and their irritation regarding so many of our fans indifference to them I do think their overall pettiness and infantile ignorance to their own failings is their most irritating trait. For example when we lost to Wolves recently we didn't harp on about the Bent penalty being an injustice we merely focussed on our own failings. Olbyon would have cited that as justification for at least a point.

Partisan ignorance like that annoys me more than petty banter. The way they talk about their football, current manager and centre forward makes you appreciate how ignorant and parochial they are. If they beat us, and they have as good a chance as they have for 26 years, they will dine on it for years.  They are sad and petty like SHA its just that many of us across Brum never see them to develop our hatred to where it should potentially be!

Have you noticed how much they criticise Gabby, ? I would love it if he gets the winner saturday!

Grew up in South Brum so only saw Blues and Villa tops with the odd Liverpool/Man U one thrown in. Slightly more interested in Albion than Coventry so not much interest. I hate Blues and that's enough.

Don't find them particularly offensive in any way. They're not like Wolves or Small Heath, in that they care more about football than beating someone up for no reason.

It is technically a derby, but I've never had any real fuss at work off Baggies fans.

I've got three Albion mates who all dislike/hate Villa to varying degrees, apparently more than they abhor the Wolves. Though that could be a generational thing - we're all around the 40 mark and I get the impression that the younger lot at their place have more of an antipathy towards the dogheads than to us. I used to really dislike Olbeeyoon when I was at school, but I've felt pretty indifferent about them for a long, long time. So much so I've even been along to a couple of their games with my mates. Got a bit of a shock one time when another one of their lot from Worcester recognised me (i.e. as a Villa fan in the Albion end at Bradford), but there was no bother whatsoever and very little if any in the way of anti-Villa chanting as I remember.

I do think my indifference to them can wind them up at times.

I've no real problem with Chiles but I can't stand that arrogant bell end Frank Skinner.

Anyhow, I save all my real hatred for Small Heath. I've always absolutely detested that horrible little club.

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside
I do like to be beside the sea!
I do like to stroll upon the Prom, Prom, Prom!
Where the brass bands play: "F**k off West Brom!"

Been so long since West Brom beat us I've forgotten how it feels.
