Downing and Albrighton for me too.  High hopes for Marc, and here's hoping Bannan gives him a run for it next year.

I don't see how it's possible to justify anything other than Downing and Albrighton.

...

I never realised though that Clark had played more than Super Marc this season.

I don't think he has.

Albrighton has certainly played more minutes in league games according to fantasy league stats. And I'm assuming Albrighton was subbed off more than Clark so he would have started more.

I agree Albrighton has gone off the boil a bit of late. But I think Clark has had a fair few ropey performances as he  adjusts to different positions. I'd always consider putting Albrighton in the team when everyone's fit; with Clark at the moment I can't say I would. He needs to be stronger against physical opponents.

Downing has been one of the few success stories this season and obviously thrives on GH's management compared to MON. Can't see beyond him really. clark has done okay, well more than okay given the circumstances. I'd probably give it to Allbrighton though

Or maybe he was coming back from injury, and struggled without a pre-season, so was always going to be better this season no matter who was in charge?

nah, he knows what's expected of him this season. Under MON he was a peripheral figure most of the time, fitness or not

nah, he knew what was expected of him since he's been here but he's just more capable of delivering now.

I think if you concede that some players haven't responded to GH's management, then you have accept that some have. Heskey, hasn't pulled up any trees this season but for 99% of MON's reign he was an embarrassment frankly

Undoubtedly - the youth players especially seem to be thriving under him.  But with Downing I think it's more the issue of his fitness last season than MON not getting enough out of him.

Dunno. I don't think you necessarily have to be 100% fit to be involved in games. Granted, his poor showing last season was undoubtably partly a confidence issue after the injury.
